:D i was about to do the same thing.

this show drives me f'king crazy, especially whichever one talks in that "this is sewious" baby voice. now, "backyardigans," that's a good show.

Word. Stomp Stomp Stomp, I'm doing the Yeti Stomp

AMEN brother! Backyardigans is an excellent show, with kid singers who can actually sing and wildly different music/dances/environment/etc. Wonder Pets is like 82% the exact same show every time, with the same plot (save the baby [x animal]) and the same moral ('What's gonna work? Teeeeeeam-work!"). Like, they sing the same six three-minute songs every episode, and that kills 18 of the 22 minutes of the show. Plus, the Wonder Pets spend all that time singing, but none of the voice talent can sing their way out of a paper bag.

+1

One of the few kids shows (Jack's Big Music Show is another) that I can watch with my daughter and NOT want to put a bullet in my head.. .or watch a CHiefs game... Plus, the episodes are way clever for an adult to watch (what kid is even going to fathom the swinging 60's theme to Super Spy?), I have found myself singing Lady in Pink, Monster Party and Racing Day more than once!

Just took her to see Backyardigans Live last week, it was pretty awesome and she loved it.

 not to mention that there are no actual songs in "wonder pets" -- they just "sing" whatever they happen to be doing. it's like if i just went around the house "singing" whatever i was doing -- "la la, i'm taking a dump and reading the paper, la la la." maybe the budget allows for no script, just improvisation.

not that i encourage my kid to watch a ton of tv, but at least the backyardigans teaches imagination (as much as sitting watching a tv show can do that). my kid loves pretending she's on a horse singing, "yee haw, yippy kai yay, texas here i come!" and i see her pretending to do the same things the backyardigans do. she's even learned some of their dance moves.

"Wonderpets" is a step away from being communist-socialist TV programming! Where's the singing about individualism and freedom that built this country! We sure brainwash them at a young age nowadays.

The lyrics sound like they are straight out of a communist manifesto.

Now:

Backyardigans +1 (for all ages)

Wiggles +1 (my 2 year old loves this one.)

My 5 year old newest show is "Super Why!" which is good reading practice for her entering kindergarten this year.

Edit: The sarcasm is intended.
