Mine didn't want anything to do with it until one day she decided to start it up and leave it on full blast for about 20 mins until I came home thinking she had done good. About burnt my hand off opening the lid. She thought the little flame picture on it meant that you had to have it there for it to work properly....yes she used to be a blonde.
