whomper
I was at a bar in New York last night and they had signed pictures of a bunch of celebrities hanging up. The bartender has been there for 20 years and met almost all of the people that had pics up there. He was telling us who he liked and who was a prick. Have you ever met a celebrity/sports figure/famous person ? If so how did they act ?

Have you ever met a celebrity/sports figure/famous person ? If so how did they act ? a few years ago we saw sarah silverman in new york at a small venue (i'd say under 100 people). natalie portman sat directly in front of me. she laughed hardest at the filthiest, most inappropriate jokes, which made her even hotter. unfortunately, my wife was constantly c0ckblocking me or else i totally could've gotten her. my wife rode a PATH train back from jersey with a bunch of her coworkers, and they shared a table (do they have tables on the PATH train? it was something like that) with seth green, for probably about 40 minutes. she said he was really cool. Scourge
I was on the NY subway drunk on vacation quite a few years back and there he was in all his glory, clock around his neck, gold teeth, FLAVA FLAAAAAV! I stood up and was like, "FLAVA FLAAAAAV!" He was like, "What's up big homie?" I said, "Yo man, I am a huge fan of yours".. He was like, "YEAHHH BOYEEE!".. We went back and forth for a while.. He was just like he was later when he appeared on The Surreal Life and Flava of Love. Dude was hilarious.. He told me he was broke as shi!.. We talked for like 15 minutes and then he got off the Subway and was like, "Stay real homie!" I was all banged up and it was probably the most hilarious, random 15 minutes of my life. whomper
I've met a bunch of famous people, but it's usually a pleasant exchange, but one was particularly cool... In the late 70s, when I was about 10 yrs, the Bee Gees were recording across the street from my house. They were very cool guys. They were kicking the soccer ball around and when my buddy and I went to say hi, they kicked us the ball and a bunch of us played a 15 minute soccer match before they had to go back in the studio. Who did the bartender say was awesome or a big dick? He said Stallone was a good guy and a big tipper. Bruce willis was cool. Alan Alda was a prick. John Starks was cool. Ewing was Megan Foxy
whomper
I told the story on here once before about when my family met Lawrence Taylor in an airport. Broke my heart to see LT be a monster truck aficionado to my dad. He finally gave him an autograph when he said it was for his grandson. My Dad cheered this guy on every Sunday. Even if he didnt want to sign an autograph that is his right but be civil.

Scourge
Another time we were all out after an Eagles game drinking in the city and Bernard Hopkins came rolling in and bought everyone drinks. He was one of the coolest guys. Shook everyone's hands, signed autographs, hung out for like 30 minutes and then rolled out. There was like 100 people in the bar and he bought a round for everyone.. Good stuff.
Big Country
My wife met Kobe Bryant. Said he was quiet but cordial. (I know I've shared this story before, as he was with his kid in a medical building an the girl working in the pharmacy followed him to his car with her camera phone in his face the whole way. My wife felt real bad for Kobe and I hope the chick got fired) Saw Dennis Rodman at a Ralph's with some hottie blonde and two rugrats. He was shy and avoiding people, so can;t say eitehr way how he was. He did invite my father-in-law and just about everyone else in hearing distance to a party at his place in Newport Beach when they happened to be at the same restaurant. Not a lot of other major run ins.

Dutch Oven
I have met several athletes, and they were pretty much all pricks. I'll give a special shout out to Reggie Jackson and Rickey Henderson though. Nolan Ryan was an exception, good guy. Coolest person I've met was Andre 3000. Me and some buddies were hammered and at a Denny's (oh the irony) early morning and we sat by him and some of his buddies. Reall cool guy. detlef
I got stoned with John Mcenroe once. He was pretty cool. Paul Newman was a very kind guy. He ate at a restaurant that I was chef/owner at and, as I approached his table of 8 to introduce myself, he stood up and started to clap, telling me the meal was outstanding. The tomato salad was "sexy". I was dumbfounded. Few things make you feel more special than being given a standing ovation from a guy like that. That says a lot in my book when someone realizes how they can use their fame to make others feel good. Bill Bradley, whom I met in similar circumstances was also very cool and down to earth. I remember asking him what Phil Jackson was going to do (he'd just left the Bulls). He told me he figured he'd go chill out at his ranch and then coach the Lakers. Pretty much nailed that one. Joe Jackson was the biggest prick I've ever met. My sister and I were working back stage catering a show of his at the Greek Theater in Berkeley. Some lady in a wheelchair was a huge fan and managed to get back stage and wanted to meet him. He came off the stage and screamed, "Get this f'ing cripple out of here! Just because you're crippled, I have to kiss you ass?!" Wow, lost a lot of respect for that guy. I've met plenty of B listers. Kirk Hammett is a total cheapskate. Lewis Black is way more mellow in real life.
SheikYerbuti
T-Sizzle was playing poker at the Borg last weekend. I didn't go up to him, but he was wearing a hugh diamond encrusted 6-pointed star. I had no idea he's jewish. I've met many many famous people at the casino. Most have been very cool. Interesting to hear someone mention Bruce Willis. I haven't met him, but have heard from multiple sources that he's a dillhole at the blackjack table. Perchoutofwater
I've met a bunch of athletes and bands / singers. I really haven't met any TV or Movie stars. Tim McGraw was in fraternity a few years before I was there, but would come back and play at parties. He was really cool. Randy Owen and the rest of Alabama were really cool the wife and I met them after a concert. My wife is a huge fan of theirs. George Jones is one more funny SOB. Randy Travis is an A #1 ass. He was singing for a charity event my mother was in chairing. Total prick. Pat Green is a lot of fun, I partied with him one night. I've met too many athletes to mention. Double Agent
I've met several professional athletes but a few come to mind. Nolan Ryan was a class act. He and my college coach played for the Angels together. So Nolan came out one weekend and worked with us pitchers. He was very approachable and easy to talk to. While not in the same category, Charlie Hough always made time for the fans after Ranger games. He would usually sign autographs after the game until everyone had one. I met Troy Aikman once and he seemed nice enough. My dad was building a home (he's a builder...not his personal home) a couple houses down from Troy's and Troy came down to look at it. We also saw Lori Morgan in his pool one time. She looked friendly.
Cunning Runt
Sat by Digger Phelps on a flight to Connecticut for about two hours and of course we talked hoops. Decent guy. I'm from Indiana and this was when Bobby Knight was still the coach. I'm definitely not a fan of Knight's and made some sort of comment that Knight needs to chill out. Digger got pretty defensive on Knight's behalf - not pissy, but they're very good friends. Funny part is that very night I was watching IU play on ESPN and he threw one of his legendary temper tantrums - the kind that makes news, etc.. Met Tone Loc in an elevator at Bally's in Vegas. Pretty cool for the short time we talked. Talked with Doc Rivers for about 20 minutes at the Westchester airport outside NY. He was really cool to talk with. This was when the Pacers/Knicks were playing in the playoffs so I blew him a little crap about the Pacers beating the Knicks. He just laughed and blew me crap back and took it all in stride. Met Emmitt Smith at a real estate convention in Vegas (he handles his real estate developments with the Staubach Co. - a huge brokerage/development firm owned by Roger). Had a chance to talk with him for bit. Played Hold 'Em with Troy Aikman at a Texas Developer's Party (private tourney) at this same Vegas convention (a couple years later though). He was a special guest. Nice enough guy. There have been a few other chance meetings - Larry Bird, Bruce Jenner, Bobby Knight, Tony Dungy - but those weren't instances where I really had a chance to actually talk with them. Graduated the same year as Rod Woodson here in Fort Wayne. I spoke to him a number of times when he was just in HS.
fingfootball
I used to tend bar at a place called Freddy T's in KC. Frank White was a regular there, and Dave Cone was a friend of my boss so he would come in from time to time. Both really cool guys.
detlef
He said Stallone was a good guy and a big tipper. Bruce willis was cool. Alan Alda was a prick. John Starks was cool. Ewing was Megan Foxy Forgot Bruce Willis. One summer in Sun Valley, ID, he hired me and some other guys to dig fox holes in his paint ball course. That guy was all about toys. If he wasn't riding his bad ass mountain bike around, he was having paint ball wars. Summer time in Sun Valley, you'd see him f'ing off all the time. Really a nice guy. While we were digging holes, he'd come up and get all fired up about them like a kid. "Do you think you could dig it out right here?! That'd be great!" Then he'd jump in them and test them out. Pretty funny.
Hugh 0ne
Pele. Cool dude, although it was about 25 years ago. Ken Daneyko. Seemed decent enough. I think that's it. Do those two even qualify as "famous"?

Small talk kind of stuff. He was real cool.
