A question about New York Sidewalks

Did you remind them to step OVER the homeless people?

But seriously, the only sidewalk I have trouble walking on is Central Park East. It's cobblestone all the way up the park and the bricks have become very uneven over the past 100 years. I've sprained my ankle walking it. . . .twice.

I have been walking the streets of NY for 15 years and can honestly say the sidewalks are fine. It is a pretty hectic pace though. Bike messengers flying by, a lot of congestion, cars, trucks and cabs everywhere. You have to be on the swivel.

Wow, really sounds like the kind of place I want to be.

NY is a phenominal city but it takes getting used to. I remember about 15 years ago I went to Texas with a friend of mine to spend a week with a guy we knew from NJ that moved out there. We were in a fast food place and it was taking a year and a day to get our order. I looked at my friend like what the hell is going on here and he just reminded me that we werent in NY anymore.
