Cunning Runt
You guys completely ignore him in your projections and start/bench. In a PPR league, he's outscoring LJ this year AND FWIW I'm hearing KC is going to utilize more of a no huddle/hurry up offense which would almost certainly favor Charles. Seems he merits some degree of analysis/consideration. More than LJ maybe even. Due to byes, I'm probably gonna start him. Just sayin..... DMD
Yeah, we've been hearing about how Charles is going to be used more since July. I have him in my template and I almost added him in this week but he's been so unproductive and under-used I dropped him this week. He had 63 total yards last week but 17 yards came on one pass in an overtime game. He has never scored (nor has LJ) and he trods along with only 20 or 30 rushing yards at most and has even been blanked one week as a receiver (week 4 no less). Now he is on the road playing in Washington who has a good defense. I would have projected maybe 30 or 40 total yards for him at best. I hear you, but 30-40yds on 4-5 catches plus maybe another 10-15yds rushing and you're in that 10pt fantasy range which ain't great, but it ain't god-awful either. It's pretty clear Charles is the more productive back on a per-touch basis and if what I'm hearing is true that KC is going to hurry up the offense some, that's definitely tailored to get Charles more active - no? WJW
I'd just like to say that when David's projections are on target I have a hand in them. Otherwise I have nothing to do with them.
BillyBalata
week 1....4 catches 29 yds week 2...did not play week 3...3 catches 34 yds week 4...zero catches week 5...5 catches 54 yds I'd say last week there's evidence he could be startable in a ppr league, but the 4 weeks leading up to that don't show a lot of promise. Chief Dick
If he was on my roster as my only running back, I still wouldn't start him.

Also factor in that week one and three were the previous road games so not much in BAL or PHI and against the NYG defense is when he had 0-0. Redskins are horrible but only on defense. At home vs STL and TB they only allowed 7 and 13 points respectively. I would agree that Charles will probably get something but just did not seem lke enough to warrant projecting for him. The Buccaneers and their merry back of RBs only had six catches for 31 yards spread out over three players. The Rams had a collective 4 for 15 in receptions in WAS. Those numbers obviously don't look good, but like I said, in a PPR league he's the 37th ranked RB whereas Johnson is the 49th. Decimal scoring at .1pt for every rushing/receiving yard, 6pts for a TD, 1pt per catch: Johnson Wks 1-5: 34.3 Total Points / Wk1-3.6...Wk2-14.9...Wk3-1.8...Wk4-8.4...Wk5-5.6 Charles Wks 1-5:: 42.64 Total Points / Wk1-11.42...Wk2-0(DNP)...Wk3-10.00...Wk4-5.92...Wk5-15.3 So he's scored 8 more fantasy points in one fewer game and is averaging on a per game played basis 10.66pts to LJs 6.86pts. From a fantasy standpoint, it would appear to me that Charles is the back to have. Am I missing something? Not to add more work for y'all, but it would seem a # of receptions projection would be a potentially useful bit of insight to consider. I think you are on the money with your assessment that he is the "one to have", unfortunately neither are "worth starting." I have Charles stashed one team, but he has shown me nothing so far that would compel me to start him except in desperation. That being said, I have no intention of dropping him, because is is still possible in my opinion that he does something this year. But I certainly understand why DMD would not put him in the projections. He probably feels bad enough about having to put LJ in there, without inflicting further self-guilt by appearing to endorse yet another running back from this team. alexgaddis
I see Charles getting about 5-7 catches and 120 total yards and a TD this week...
darin3
Charles will outscore Jerry Porter but not Nate Burleson. Hope this helps.
