kpholmes
While I don't trust half of what comes out of Michael Lombardi's mouth... a 3rd for Anquan Boldin is a steal. Even with the necessary monster contract, you've gotta think half the teams in the NFL are looking into this, right? Chavez
While I don't trust half of what comes out of Michael Lombardi's mouth... a 3rd for Anquan Boldin is a steal. Even with the necessary monster contract, you've gotta think half the teams in the NFL are looking into this, right? I agree. There are probably 6-7 teams at the top of the heap where this deal wouldn't make sense, and maybe the 6-7 worst teams shouldn't be giving up a relatively high draft pick and huge $$$ to a WR. The other 18-20 should be running to their phones to make this deal. Maybe tomorrow or so I'll lay out my opinions on who is which but it's late. Cunning Runt
I gotta think he's gonna end up on the Ravens or Dolphins. And if a 3rd is the asking price, either one should offer up a 2nd and get the deal done.

They have three 2nd round picks, so could conceivably deal one of them, and they seem quite thin at WR behind Randy Moss (who is 33 and in the last year of his contract) and Welker (on the mend and likely not at 100% to start next season). Are they really that comfortable rolling with Julian Edelman and Sam Aiken? Edited March 4, 2010 by MTSuper7

Randy Moss' insurance policy however... Edelman is no Wes Welker. If you can land Boldin, Edelman goes back to the bench. Running Moss/Boldin out week after week would be scary. Welker then wouldn't be rushed back into action and in 2011 you have Boldin/Welker. Seems like a fit to me.
kpholmes
PFT has heard that the Baltimore Ravens, Kansas City Chiefs and New England Patriots are all interested in acquiring Boldin from the Cardinals. Adam Schefter of ESPN reports that the Cardinals have spent much of Friday weighing their offers and determining which one to take. Schefter says that right now, the Ravens are the leading contenders.

Then why you'd want a WR like Boldin who's prone to breaking down into that middle aged group doesn't make much sense to me. Dude has like one full season in the last five. Dude has like one full season in the last five. He missing time, but puts up extremely strong numbers without playing 16 game seasons. And as far as it not making sense... This team is in win now mode. Boldin is the bpa for them, and is a position of need. Moss/Boldin through November is a nightmare. Moss/Boldin/Welker from December-playoffs may very well be unstoppable.

Menudo
http://twitter.com/Adam_Schefter As a Steelers fan, I don't like it. As a Boldin & Breaston owner in a keeper league, it is intriguing.
