WASHINGTON — Americans by 9 percentage points have a favorable view of the health care overhaul that President Obama signed into law Tuesday, a USA TODAY/Gallup Poll finds, a notable turnaround from surveys before the vote that showed a plurality against it.

By 49%-40% those surveyed say it was "a good thing" rather than a bad one that Congress passed the bill. Half describe their reaction in positive terms, as "enthusiastic" or "pleased," while about four in 10 describe it in negative ways, as "disappointed" or "angry."

The largest single group, 48%, calls the bill "a good first step" that should be followed by more action on health care. An additional 4% also have a favorable view, saying the bill makes the most important changes needed in the nation's health care system.

:D

Az? Bueller? Bueller?

IThe poll results shouldn't surprise anyone now that the initial "shock" is over.

Sometimes, you have to confront your fears in order to understand that there was nothing to be afraid of in the first place.

Some famous gimpy guy said something like that once, I think.

We live in enemy territory now, hope you enjoyed democracy while it lasted.

Yeah, I remember when the USSR fell we thought Western Europe would finally be free, but then they turned on us and started guaranteeing health care for all citizens....Leninists!

The terrorist have won.

No rant here, but ... you bring nothing to the board.

Not a single cogent thought in you. I might not believe in some of what bushwacked, Ursa, and some of the others say, but a least I can respect that they have a thought or a question they can express... They at least make me pause to see things from a different perspective. You, on the other hand, are what moneymakers or candyman is to the "left" on this board.

Honestly, I just don't think you know how pathetic, cheap, lazy, and worthless your comments have become.

No rant over.

Well, what can you do when tosberg posts such a well-thought, cogent, and researched argument?

We merely flail about in befuddlement. What an orator...or the 21st century version of one, I guess.

Enjoy your 2nd rate care and rationing! And high taxes! Can't forget those. Glad we could screw 85% of America for the other 15%. Yay, socialism!

Yes, those are the FauxNews bullet points, and they are still complete bull.
