Perchoutofwater
Friday Night Poker. Who's in? I won $300 last weekend playing friends and family in an impromptu $20 No limit tourney at the lake. I'm feeling pretty good about myself.

Perchoutofwater
I am sorry that Obama has single-handedly bankrupted you perch. I expect smart ass comments from some. Honestly I expected more from you. I'm in no danger of bankruptcy. I'll close the doors long before it comes anywhere near that, but I don't foresee that happening. I do fully expect to lose six figures next year primarily due to Obamacare, but I'll be fine. I just hope that the employees I may be forced to let go can say the same

TimC
Dire Straits, one of the best, most under-rated bands evah. Back when I worked in the record store over the summer, I'd crank out all the Dire Straits albums we had before any customers started coming in and I had to play some "hit" record. I really dont see how "obamacare" is the sole player in this game. Do you think that since the economy sucks that hospitals are trying to save money by not spending money on new construction? Or that more people are defaulting on medical debt? I know that you have a deep and visceral hatred of our President, but are you making this a target of convenience and ignoring other factors? The economy does suck and there are more uninsured which does impact the health systems. There is no doubt about that. Still there were several systems I know of that were still planning projects that have been canceled as a direct result of the health care bill. You also have to look at it another way too, because the economy sucks construction companies are building stuff really, really cheap. Since I've been working in the office there has never been a better time for an owner to build a building. We are currently buying work. Meaning we are doing it pretty much for no profit just to keep people busy. Many trade contractors are doing the same. Again I would refer you to the link in another thread. Link This mentions one of the projects I was going to be working on. That 50,000 square foot expansion was going to be about a $12,500,000 project, that we would have been building. That project would have paid for 1/3 of my overhead next year, and would have employed on average 50 workers for a year. I know of two other projects similar to this we were to be involved in that have been shelved because of Obamacare. Those or just projects I know about that we were either going to be involved in or had a very good chance of being involved in.
