Scooby
She applied to A&M as a senior in HS but wasnt accepted despite very good GPA & SAT's....apparently one can no longer use legacy info on the app, her dad graduated from there, me, my brother,my sister, & countless cousins as well. Her dad was magna cum laude petro engineer.....She was disappointed, but decided to go to OU and transfer to A&M after she completed her freshman yr. She began daily phone calls this past May, sent her app and transcripts from OU (she has a 3.79 GPA in mechanical engineering, has completed most upper level classes making her almost a Junior, and a Baker Hughes internship lined up for next yr). They sent her paperwork fedex so they could see a signature upon delivery. Still no phone calls or replies....Then my sis and brother in law got an A&M engineering magazine on Monday and a letter from the student foundation asking for donations.....this really irked them to no end. She sent them e-mails saying that she wanted to be removed from mailing list, that her incredibly smart daughter had diligently tried to get transferred, that she couldn't understand why no one ever responded one way or the other, etc. etc. That afternoon a recruiter called and apologized profusely, saying it was a terrible mix up...the next morning she called back and said my niece was accepted. To top it all off, my niece had already moved into her sorority house @ OU just a few days earlier. They prepaid her housing, I dont they can get a refund, but they dont care. So she packed up, headed home and is at A&M now looking for housing. She is elated and I am too! I can't wait to go to an Aggie game this fall:) Whoop! Donutrun Jellies
Kinda makes you wish she played football or basketball so academic excellence and personal character weren't considered in the admissions process!! All the best to her, glad it worked out eventually!
