Bad year to be a Colts fan

If Manning were there, it'd still be a long year. At least this way he can get healthy, they'll get a high dradt pick (already crossing fingers for Luck), and they'll have an easier schedule next season based on this year's results.

I'm glad to see them holding their pride and not giving up, and surely I don't want to see them tank the season - but you have to look at the positives (listed above). If I still lived in Indy and had season tix, THEN i'd be pissed!

OK so say Indy gets Luck. Then we turn him into Rodgers Jr. and keep Peyton's bench warm for the next couple of years. In the mean time the defense continues to get worse, the running game doesn't get better, and the offensive line is...well...offensive. Plus the team is out the salary of a #1 draft pick for 3 or 4 years for someone who might never play during that period when there are obvious needs elsewhere on the team.

The offensive line is young. It will get better. They drafted the left tackle and right tackle of the future in April.

If the Colts somehow finish with the worst record, YOU ABSOLUTELY TAKE LUCK. He may sit for a couple years. He may not.

The contract for first rounders is no longer the burden it once was with the new CBA.

What's up with that ? on paper they have a very good team minus at QB and no play made to get one in the off season

+1

It's like they put all their eggs in one basket, Alex Smith, and refuse to look at any other QB available. Sure, the Niners shoulda woulda coulda picked Aaron Rodgers (whose dream was to play for the 49ers). But since they picked the wrong QB, they have had multiple opportunities to pick up a solid QB in free agency. Yet they never do.

Sometimes you just have to take your losses and move on, especially when all of the other pieces for a powerhouse NFL team is already there. That window won't last forever, although they are still a young team.

That is all unpossible. Polian is a genius. Just like he was in Carolina. Manning hasn't carried him, Mora, Dungy and certainly not Caldwell.
