CaP'N GRuNGe
Rick Spielman is reportedly deep into his 2nd or 3rd hour of an afternoon nap. More details as they emerge. *crickets*

Chavez
Watching all of the Free Agent WRs sign with other teams. My general thought is that a good QB will make hay with even not-so-good WRs (hence some of the marginally talented guys who've looked respectable in NE and Indy over the last decade). Frankly the Vikings could use a marginally talented WR. They have Harvin with his headaches and that's it. Sure they might have had to overpay for a marginally talented WR in today's market, but at least that would give Ponder another target. You don't suppose they'll go after Blackmon instead of Kalil do you?

CaP'N GRuNGe
I understand they don't want to overpay for anyone, but does it really do them any good to spend their FA $ on mediocre players when their roster is already littered with them? I don't understand this move. We've already got Kyle Rudolph. If they want another book-end TE, why not just re-sign Shiancoe who can actually block? alexgaddis
I don't know, I certainly don't think they should have overpaid for VJAX and certainly not for the overrated Pierre Garcon...

Something to get excited about. A TE who missed all of 2011 with injury, and if you average his stats for his first 3 seasons in the league he's maybe a top 25 TE at best. Excuse my pants for not getting tight.

Square
With the first pick in the 2013 NFL draft the Minnesota Vikings select... I think they should go with another TE. I mean, Shiancoe was good and then they take Rudolph in the 2nd, and now sign Carlson. They could go 3 TE set and Thews would draft them all. I'm not sure anyone can get too excited about a TE signing...but that said, his first two years in the league in a Mike Holmgren offense where they actually use TE's he had over 50 catches each year. That would put him top10-12 in receptions for a TE. Year 3 Pete Carroll comes to town and they don't use TE's as much in his offense and Carlson only had 36 catches. (exact same amount Shanks had last year) Yes he missed all of last year due to injury, but it was a shoulder injury, i'd be more concerned if he was trying to come back from some kind of leg injury. I can't quite put my finger on it...but i seem to remember a team having some success this past year with two TE's. Rudolph=Gronk Carlson=Hernandez Harvin=Welker
CaP'N GRuNGe
I don't mind the TE depth. The did lose Kleinsasser and Shiancoe is gone. You did forget one Billy... Frazier <> Belichick Thankfully Ponder > Brady though. *puff* *puff* *pass*

Savage Beatings
Well the strangler (Cook) went free, so that's ALMOST like a Free Agent signing at CB.
