Big John
You dont sign for the Bills expecting to go to the playoffs. He was traded to the Bills.
BA Baracus
IMO, Kelly was never HC material at the NFL level anyway. No way is he Longhorn material. Maybe USC or S.Carolina or POSSIBLY Miami but thats a stretch. Miami already hired Mark Richt.
darin3
I could see him going back to college but he has huge ego so i think he will roll around in the 13 million he is owed and take whatever pro team will take him. I am thinking Lurie asked chip to relinquish the gm duties and he said no. (again the ego issue) This was already confirmed. Lurie was contemplating shaking things up, talked to Kelly about giving up player personnel responsibilities and Kelly said no.... so, adios. Zooty
This was already confirmed. Lurie was contemplating shaking things up, talked to Kelly about giving up player personnel responsibilities and Kelly said no.... so, adios. which is odd since he's now saying he's willing to just coach and doesn't want player personnel control. Unless he realized that just got him fired.

the outlaw
This was already confirmed. Lurie was contemplating shaking things up, talked to Kelly about giving up player personnel responsibilities and Kelly said no.... so, adios. Unless Lurie blatantly lied during his public presser earlier today, this is incorrect, as he was specifically asked this question and he rather firmly stated, he did NOT tell Kelly he could stay if he gave up personnel responsibilities. He was released outright... Edited December 30, 2015 by the outlaw

He was released outright... Why exactly would you think that anybody in the front office of any organization would feel it necessary to speak the truth to the media?
the outlaw
Why exactly would you think that anybody in the front office of any organization would feel it necessary to speak the truth to the media? In this specific instance, what difference or advantage, one way or the other would Lurie possibly gain by not telling the truth to the media? It actually makes more sense, IMO, that he released Chip outright, rather than allowing him the opportunity to stay...completely sever ties, and start fresh... There could be any number or reasons for untruth ... perhaps he and Kelly agreed that that particular fact need not be released.
WildTurkey
Kelly to the Titans just makes too much sense. I bet the negotiations are in place already. They need a splash hire, have the QB in place and will most likely have the number one pick. Sankey or Andrews could probably be salvageable in the Kelly offense. Get Tunsil pick #1 and run with it! Sankey is not salvageable. Hes a bust and Cobb nor Andrews are the answer.
