Congratulations Indianapolis Colts

Yeah, so much for 3 man fronts!  Houston rushed 4 all day, blitzed, mixed coverages.  Nice job.

One other thing, that Houston field is a mess.  Dirt painted green.

Agreed. Someone's going to break an ankle on that sad excuse for turf.

Houston's D was MUCH better in the rematch. That rookie corner is going to be very good in a couple years. They also did a good job of taking advantage of Indy's O-line injuries with their pass rush.

That said, the Colts looked like they were sleepwalking out there today. Manning was off target on a lot of throws, Edge coughed up the ball twice (although the second one may not have been official, and neither ended up a turnover), and Tarik Glenn got flagged for about three or four false-start penalties. Hopefully the return of Jeff Saturday will help that O-line next week.

The Colts D was also very good today. They gave up A LOT of yards on the ground, but shut down Andre Johnson, recorded five sacks, picked off Carr, and only surrendered 14 points. Not bad.

Uhm, ok, here we go

Roses are red

Horsehoes are blue

Colts are AFC South champs

uhmm, and the owners of. . . lamps?

Edit: No, no, no! And they played through leg cramps!

Hmm, I didn't see you crying for the Colts last week when the exact same situation caused the Colts to miss out on a defensive TD. Dwight Freeney stipped Billy Volek of the ball, but the ref called it incomplete. It was clearly a fumble. Colts challenged, but because the whistle had blown, the Colts did not get the recoverey, just the sack. The ball was placed where it hit the ground. Exact same situation. I thought it was sweet justice!

On the other play, you are dreaming. Manning clearly was throwing the ball, it even hit Edge in the helmet! Refs SOMEHOW ruled Manning's forward progress was stopped, and it was a sack? He hadn't even been touched by a defender yet! He was just backing up. Bad call, but you got the benefit from that one, as it was incorrectly ruled a sack.

Neither play allowed the Colts to score, they punted in both of those drives.

Manning did a very good job of avoiding intentional grounding there. It was an incomplete pass and Houston got a free sack out of it.

That said, Manning's fumble probably should've been ruled a turnover, but the whistle was blown before Houston could recover.

The Texans were robbed by terrible decisions from the officiating crew. A decent crew and Houston wins that game.

The Texans were robbed by their own inability to throw the ball. We all saw last week that even mediocre players like Billy Volek and Drew Bennett can do damage to Indy's secondary. So what happened to Carr and Andre Johnson today?

Houston's defense played very well today but, frankly, any team that can only muster one passing TD against Indy's secondary doesn't deserve to win.

You aren't kidding Bill. How do the refs rule a sack at that point? No whistle was blown to signal loss of forward progress BECAUSE MANNING HADN'T EVEN BEEN TOUCHED. Completely bogus call. Manning hits Edge with the pass. No way could it be even possibly ruled intentional grounding. Refs bailed out the Texans on that one.
