CaptainHook
The Miami Dolphins have a new coach, and now they have a new name for their stadium -- and it has a familiar ring. The stadium now will be known as Dolphins Stadium. Pro Player signed a 10-year deal with the Dolphins in 1996, but has since gone out of business. Dolphins owner Wayne Huizenga also said that a new firm is being created to manage the football team and the stadium he owns, as well as to oversee a planned stadium expansion. A new management company -- Dolphins Enterprises LLC -- is being created. A CEO for that company will be named shortly, Huizenga said. The CEO will report directly to Huizenga, as will new head coach Nick Saban. link So many jokes, so little time. . . 1. Nobody wants to sponsor the Dolphins 2. "Pro Player" was no longer an applicable name, since they don't have any

bigdadreed
Rightly so. Anything with the word "Pro" should not be associated with that sorry-ass team.

godtomsatan
Yea, two losing seasons in the past 30+ years. What a sorry team... 648874[/snapback] I was going to say........they were bad this year, but this isn't the Arizona Cardinals. They play in the toughest division in football, they had some devastating injuries/departures, and their coach lost the team before the season started. Give them Shaun Alexander. Give them 2 O-Lineman. Give them a last place schedule. They might win 10 next year.

Big Red
I wonder if they couldn't find anyone or just didn't look. They finished okay. As mentioned, if they get a few pieces, they could compete next year. Better to get the rights now while they are cheap. The Ravens had their stadium name in limbo for a year. They wanted to wait until after their rebuilding year before getting a new name. They figured (rightly) if they had a decent 'rebuilding' year and looked to contend the next year, they could get what they wanted for the rights. They went from PSINet Stadium to Ravens Stadium (no name on building) to M&T Bank Stadium.
