theeohiostate
http://www.nydailynews.com/sports/story/394879p-334786c.html Simply put, how does Gibbs give up on this kid and go with Brunnel for the future of the team? Ramsey may not be the answer, but Mark is sure to be hurt, then where do they go..........Campbell? I did think Campbell was the best QB in last years draft, so maybe Gibbs sees something in practice that has given him comfort....? I can see the Jets not wanting to spend Brees type money, but why not go with McCown over Ramsey? I'd take a chance on Ramsey for sure.
CaptainHook
Blech. Ramsey just does not thrill me. McCown either. The Jets are in deep doo-doo.

spain
Joe Gibbs doesnt like Ramsey at all. I posted on this board before last season that Ramsey would never see the field again under a Joe Gibbs regime. I thought Campbell would be starting for Brunell by midseason. But Brunnell had a fine year, and started the entire season. Campbell's team will come, but Ramseys is done. At least as a Redskin... Raider.Nation
why get rid of Pennington to go with Ramsey? don't get it... Pennington is in a peculiar place, with 2 injuries to his 'cannon' arm. but he's still proven that he can win football games, with or without an NFL QB arm. Everytime I've seen Ramsey play, he looks like a baffoon. The Jets are better off taking a chance on a young guy in the draft (Young - if he falls because of his score, Cutler) whoever. McCown. Well he's kind of tricky. I think ARI needs to hang on to him as insurance for Mr. Brittlesticks Kurt Warner. McCown is no better than Ramsey in big games, but he has proven that he can sling the ball.
gilthorp
Ramsey is serviceable. He had one of the worst offensive lines in history in 04' and he was drilled harder than Spain was behind bars. He has some moxie and above average arm strength. Gibbs was looking for a reason to bench him this year. Ultimately, he's a solid #2, but could fill the gap like Kitna did a few years ago for the Bengals if the Jets decide to go QB in the draft. You say he is serviceable, I don't. However you say he's serviceable to fill in until their draftee becomes serviceable. That I could live with if I were a Jets fan. But strictly getting him to take over for Pennington. I wouldn't support that move.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but Pennington isn't some super stud. He is above average if he can stay healthy. There's nothing that tells me that Ramsey could not be as good if given an opportunity to play. The one year he had the reigns he was a sitting duck and most QB's would have been spitting their teeth out after a few games. What makes you say he wouldn't be "serviceable"? Vet
Everytime I've seen Ramsey play, he looks like a baffoon...1343016[/snapback] He sounds perfect for the Jets! Is he available? Latest I've heard is that the Jets want to trade up to #1 and take Leinart. They need to make a decision on Pennington by Friday, when he is due to receive a $3 million bonus if on the roster. So, we'll know which direction they are going in this week. I think if Pennington is released, they are going to draft a QB. The rumor is they would trade John Abraham and the #4 to Texas for the #1 pick. Seems kind of steep for my taste.

Rovers
Hadn't heard that one.... and I would not mind Abaraham for the #1. The thing that kills Abraham's trade value are his ridiculous contract demands. He wants an 18 mil signing bonus. I would rather do that than give up picks. Voltaire
Ramsey will be on the Tony Banks/Charlie Batch/Todd Collins circuit for the rest of his career. At least he should be.
Vote Quimby2
I don't know that Ramsey has been given much of a shot. Spurrier didn't do him any favors and he does have a pretty strong arm too.
