Big Dogs
Nope, that didn't look good at all. I initially thought that dirt on his forehead was blood.... Â Granted, he called time out and came right back in and didn't miss a play....... Edited October 22, 2006 by Big Dogs

DMD
they are working on him on the sideline. He still looks like he is hurting pretty bad. He is not happy. Â If that happened to any one of our spinal cords would have snapped.
heydave76
Is clotheslining the QB legal? How can they be giving personal fouls for love taps all over the league and that not be a penalty?
Hitman
I think that hit will be reviewed this week. He was in the grasp of another guy already, and the guy hitting him high bends him back, going basically at his head, thus ripping his helmet off in the process. Glad he looks to be OK. Scary indeed. Not saying it was dirty...but probably could have been called IMO. Â Edit...I change my mind. It was dirty IMO, and a personal foul. He grabbed his head, and never lets go. Hopefully Peyton is alright. Edited October 22, 2006 by Hitman

Gunther
Brutal, Peyton's helmet popped off during that clothesline. Â Manning is pitching the ball on the sidelines.
skins
That wasnt a dirty hit. One guy had him low and at almost the same time the other guy hits him high with his arm across Manning's upper chest. The physics of the two hits caused Manning toget twisted between the guys, not any intent. And he wasnt holding Manning's head, his arm just pushed it back. If the other guy didnt have Manning low the arm across the upper chest/neck never would have scraped across his head. Â Gimme a break. The announcers didnt even hint there was any problem with that hit. It was just a nasty fluke.

WorstCoachingEver
That wasnt a dirty hit. Are you joking? He had his arm across his neck and proceeded to pull him down with it. This was after he had released the ball. Considering how closely the refs have protected the QB the past few years, that definitely was a 'roughing the passer.'Â This was way more rough than the Freeney pull on Brunell's facemask earlier in the game that was called. Â This was way more rough than the Freeney pull on Brunell's facemask earlier in the game that was called. Â Â Not true. The Freeney hand across the face was blatant. The only reason the arm went across Mannings face was because someone else pushed Manning forward and into it. Intent is the issue, not just touching a QB's face, or how "rough" the play was. QB's are still playing football and can still get hammered. Â Funny how noone calling the game anywhere feels like you guys about it. It was just a real unlucky violent football play. Hitman
Troy Aikman does a nice job calling games. With that said, he is not one to stir controversy or really call guys out, and if anything is more of a nice guy/apologist for both sides (Offense/DEF) alot IMO. So the announcers not saying anything about it doesn't mean much to me. I still say a fine is coming.
