Vince Young & Jason Campbell Disagree with McNabb

McNabb said a really dumb thing... and it was probably just an excuse, because he is felling insecure about his performance.

It is really pathetic!

I mean, how is Racism going to stop if some people keep bringing it up when there is no Racism going on in certain situations.

Today, I was in a store waiting for something and there were some other people there too,

including a black person, and they had a TV with the news on.

They were talking about what Jesse Jackson said about Obama.

He said Obama is not BLACK enough... he acts like a white person.

The black person and I looked at one another and we were like what the hell is wrong with these people.

We starting talking and we were both like, we are all people, we are Americans, why does it always have to be a black and white thing!

We are Americans, not black or white!

We also discussed Mcnabbs comments, and it's the same thing.

He also agreed that a lot of black people use Racism as an excuse.

This really gets on my nerves! And it's getting really tired.

I think those guys should start a few more seasons before they start to comment about playing under scrutiny.

Yea, because new QBs never get scrutinized :D . If McNabb didn't play in Philly (where fans hate and boo damn near everything) he'd be a freakin hero. The guy is talented. He just said something dumb and happens to be wrong on this topic.

One thing that I think is true is that race is indeed an issue when it comes to McNabb's performance.

Whether people like it or not, when Lovie Smith and Tony Dongy were coaching the SB last year, a big deal was made of the first 2 black head coaches in the SB. And when the Colts won it, a bit deal was made of the fact that a black head coach had won the SB.

The point I am trying to make is that as long as race is brought up as an issue when it comes to the success of certain people, then it will also be brought up when talking about the failures of certain people.

It's who bring the issue up that we need to work on. Sometimes it's the press, sometimes it'e the athlete.

If it wasn't constantly talked about, you'd had morans like Sharpton and Jesse Jackson crying racism.

Good info there. You squishy liberal. :D

Or people on a fantasy football message board crying racism, discussing it for days on end; selectively dismissing certain quotes of the interview while blowing thing out of proportion and blaming the mainstream media which seems to be disagreeing with McNabb en masse.

Something like that.

if they didn't talk about Dungy being black and winning the SB....someone like McNabb would mention how people need to recognize this...

if this were the 80's...I'd say it would need to be mentioned...

but it's past 2000.....we should be past this already by now..

Bottom line is that the " It's harder because I'm black" thing in this day and age is is losing traction because of the tremendous strides I believe this country has made with regard to racism. I mean, let's be honest, this isn't the era of Jackie Robinson. For a very wealthy, successful black man to say it is a mystery. He has reached a tremendous level of success in my mind and I have enjoyed watching him perform. Sometimes I think that perception becomes reality in racism issues. If you feel like you are struggling because of your skin color, then that may become your mantra. Perception is a dangerous thing.

McNabb said a really dumb thing...

racist.

I mean, how is Racism going to stop if some people keep bringing it up when there is no Racism going on in certain situations.

lol. It isn't going to stop. In fact it's getting worse all the time, and will continue to do so, mostly thanks to the well-worn race card and all the mindless minorities/similar assorted liberal slugs who use it and/or cower in its wake - or see what a joke it is but don't have the spine to speak out against it. This is news? Where you been the past 20-30+ yrs?

He said Obama is not BLACK enough... he acts like a white person.

So? That makes total sense and is not a racist statement because JJ is black.

The black person and I looked at one another and we were like what the hell is wrong with these people.

They're brain-dead screwballs. Welcome to America.

We starting talking and we were both like, we are all people, we are Americans, why does it always have to be a black and white thing!

Because 2 wrongs make a right and since blacks (OOPS OMFG excuse me "African Americans") were oppressed by racism in the past, they deserve to use racism to get what they really want - and they don't really want "equal treatment." They want preferential treatment. And thanks largely to a mind-boggling number of bleeding-heart whites who are stupid enough to buy into the all the "poor oppressed blacks" BS as if it were 1920, quite often they get it. How the hell else do you explain (eg) the popularity of rap "music" which - pretending for a sec it even qualifies as music - isn't just condoned, but wildly popular, despite being often blatantly racist (and/or sexist, violent and generally "thug" etc)? How else do you explain that you can't even SAY the "n word" or people have a stroke, but say any racist term about any other race and nobody blinks an eye? so on and so on......

He also agreed that a lot of black people use Racism as an excuse.

That's because he's not black enough. wurd.

This really gets on my nerves! And it's getting really tired.

gee I can't imagine why.

McNabb - he good! *clap clap*

First off, I just thought I'd mention how harmless McNabb's intentions were with his statements. It's not like he's attacking whites, just expressing how he feels on a question addressed to him. Secondly, McNabb or any other prominent African American like favorites Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson don't represent the views of all African Americans.

How come when some minority makes some kind of statemnet about racism everyone comes out of the woodworks to attack them or "defend" society. Maybe thier views are bogus or just maybe they might be credible.....there are two sides to every story.

And lastly, please don't compare McNabb to guys like Harrington and Grossman. It's like comparing apples to oranges. Harrington has been a bust from the 1st snap of his NFL career and he's now on his 3rd opportunity in Atlanta. Grossman is a turnover machine that PREVENTS the Bears from reaching their true potential. Put a real QB on that Bear team and that would be a frmidable foe. Too bad last years team had it's best chance and went up in smoke thanks to Rex. McNabb on the other hand is an accomplished Pro Bowl NFL QB who has carried the Eagles on his back at times, consisitently won and was clearly a top 5 QB for a few years. Currently, he clearly has some durability injury issues now and is off to a slow start so we shall indeed see if he's on the downside of his career.

Just remember, McNabb has put up with a lot of crap from Philly and all races of people for one reason or another and has endured criticism during good and bad times. For someone who has carried himself well and been a consistent winner for a long period of time, it certainly doesn't seem deserving regardless how you interpret his comments.

Can we move on now to some football topics? Race is clearly a complicated issue in America.
