matt770
ESPN is reporting the Cards just want a second round pick for Boldin and the Jets, Giants and Eagles have shown interest. In the second round, the Giants pick 13th, the Jets 20th and the Eagles 21st.
Ziachild007
Cardinals officials are denying an ESPN report that they have dropped their trade demands for Anquan Boldin to a second-round pick and "other considerations." ESPN has previously reported the Cardinals were asking for first and third round picks. GM Rod Graves denied the Cardinals had placed an asking price for Boldin. "None of that is true," Graves said. "We've never said what we were looking for. All we've said is that we're willing to listen and certainly would consider something of commensurate value." i_am_the_swammi
"Other Considerations" is the key to the asking price. I am guessing those considerations need to be fairly decent (a couple of extra mid-round picks, or a decent pick next year). I also think this opens the door to a lot more offers, as many teams may now get involved.
i_am_the_swammi
Someone needs to hold "journalist" feet to the fire when these false reports are published and find out why and how this is happening more and more as time passes. Of course the Cards are denying it. By saying they want to keep him, they hope to compel teams to offer more than they'd like to pry him away. If they said, "Yeah, we don't want him", wouldn't other teams know to offer less, hoping they'd take it just to be rid of him? I think Sal is likely on the mark here, IMO. Henry Muto
Are the Cardinals that retarded ? I mean seriously they are going to let a superstar WR go for a 2nd round pick because they won't pay a few extra million and give him a new contract. Redonkulous. keggerz
as has been pointed out(on NFLN i think) the 8-10 mill that it will cost to sign boldin to a contract isnt helping his case...its not as Al Davis used to say "Just Win Baby" anymore...it is a business and I think we all tend to forget that at times...I mean the F'n Jets made employees take unpaid leave earlier this year to save money. TDFFFreak
Sign me up. The Eagles should jump on it for this price IMO. Edited April 24, 2009 by TDFFFreak
CaP'N GRuNGe
I heard on the radio on the ride home earlier this evening that the Cardinals have given Boldin's agent permission to talk to the Titans who have offered a 2nd rounder and a player to be named. Was not expecting that. Now my hopes are up, but I know they won't give him the hugh contract he wants so my hopes will soon be dashed. Sigh. TitansFan
Adam Caplan reports the Cards are looking at Titan RBs LenDale White and Chris Henry. Please, PLEASE let this happen. I'd gladly give our 2nd round pick and White or Henry (or both even) for Boldin.
matt770
Getting interesting. I hope the Giants can finagle something, they certainly have a wealth of picks to spare.

KTAR grunge? I heard that as well, but Gambo and Ash were quick to say that the cards denied that one as well, saying they did not give Rosenhass permission. Robash
and based off the Madden cover announcement the Cards should be looking to move FItz instead...no sense paying someone 10mil a year to ride IR. Jerry Reese would include some of his organs in a deal to get that one done.
theprofessor
Someone needs to hold "journalist" feet to the fire when these false reports are published and find out why and how this is happening more and more as time passes. It's like Tim Russet died and everyone said, "eh, fook it, we'll just make sh1t up from now on." I agree and I miss that guy!

Shorttynaz
Local radio here in Phoenix, but Cards GM Rod Graves has said, "How can we lower our asking price if we never HAD an asking price?" Graves and HC Ken Whisenhunt have both said that they want Boldin to reconsider and stay with the team. They've BOTH said that they are not actively trying to trade him, but they're stupid if they dont at least listen to trade offers. In MY opinion, the ONLY way the Cards trade Boldin is if they have the opportunity to move up in the draft (without losing their pick) and nabbing Knowshon Moreno. If that doesn't happen, look for Boldin to be sporting a Cards jersey next year..
