Scooby's Hubby
PITT should trade Dallas for either Crayton or Sam Hurd...Please take one, we have too many WRs.
Suture
I saw Sweed catch a ball once. True story.
BearBroncos
I think there is more to this story. There are some serious tensions with Sweed and Steeler management. Sweed hasn't produced and the Steelers feel they spent to much (first round pick) for this cat. There were several specualtions about his "injury" last season and come to find out, his back injury was merely depression. Granted, depression is nothing to baulk about, but there seems to be a cover around this kids story all the time in order to retian him (out of spite), but clear roster space. Bronco Billy
Smart FF owners ought to be making offers for him right now while he'll come dirt cheap and before he possibly hits the WW and you may lose him to someone else through luck of the draw. The guy appears to finally have "gotten it" this year right before getting hurt. He obviously had the yips in catching footballs in critical situations, but I don't ever remember seeing a WR so able to get himself so wide open so often. His hands are there - he made some phenominal catches at UT. It was a disconnect somewhere between his hands and his brain in the pros. It is almost like watching a pro golfer double-stroke a putt or watching Chuck Knoblauch throw to first. But he seemed to have gotten hold of his demon, and if he masters it he still has a long full career ahead of him. Being able to get him dirt cheap after this injury, when he's frustrated a lot of his owners into quitting on him, is opportunity knocking big time. Even if you're wrong, it ain't gonna cost much. Full disclosure - Sweed owner in 2 leagues, and have no intention of entertaining low-ball offers for him. Not when he can get that open that easily

Not when he can get that open that easily Good stuff, BB......not only has Sweed shown an ability to get open, his bad hands are exaggerated because of the crucial points in the game that two of his drops came in. That, combined with his depression issues last year, obviously have caused everyone to jump ship, which is understandable. The fact is, the guy is extremely talented, and it wouldn't surprise me to see him get it together at some point. As you said, he was doing great this year, per all reports, and then had this unfortunate injury. Unfortunately, I think his success will likely come in another uniform. Goopster24
Drafted him in a dynasty league as well. Still think this guy can turn it around.

darin3
I know someone who knows his pops, and supposedly the guy has a serious mental block (maybe tied to depression?) about getting hurt. Now that it's happened - and a serious injury to boot (I should know) - he has a VERY long road ahead of him. All that said, he is good enough to make it back, and if he can shake the mental aspect of the game loose, he may be a surprise.
Scooby's Hubby
Remember - Malcom Kelly or Limas Sweed? Looks like Kelly wins by deafult. Both needed time to develop and now Sweed is really set back.
Suture
Interesting, this is actually the first I heard of the depression thing. I knew about the Lyme disease issue, but not the depression. I watched him in practice once and he looked really good. Was running good routes and had a good burst off the line. But it seems like it doesn't translate well during game time, it's like his hands turn to stone. I hate seeing any player (especially one that does so well in college) not translate it to the pros, so hopefully he can turn it around, but I have a feeling the Steelers have him on a short leash.
