Vikings WR

Since Favre is still there, one WR has to be relevant.

Who is the #1, #2 WRs?

I real Harvin is #1, but who is #2? Berrian or Camarillo?

I read Harvin will be used some outside. Berrian could be good but I would take Harvin.

I don't think anyone could possibly make a judgment on this other than Harvin sitting at WR1 for the Vikes right now. We've seen Favre turn chicken#### into chicken salad supreme in the past at WR, but at this point in his career I'm not sure he's in a position to do that with these guys. That said, the MIN passing attack doesn't look very lustrous right now...

agree with Harvin for targets to start the season. I mentioned somewhere Camirillo has never dropped a pass in his career so he could emerge as a reliable 3rd down target.

Personally I drafted Berrian late, and like grimm said, why I have no clue...

I did the same in a draft yesterday (plus we get some return yardage and I think BB will get to do some). I agree that Berrian looked disinterested in preseason and I totally have no clue why. The guy was actually pretty good for the Bears and the Vikings signed him to a hugh contract (more than he was worth) so what's the problem? Is he just fat and happy now? Favre was an obvious upgrade at QB over Tavaris last year but without Sid Rice being there I have to assume Berrian has some value. I'm just hoping he shows it before I do my annual, "drop a guy after 3 weeks so he can be money after week 7" play.

Common Man on KFAN here in the Cities is saying the Vikings are making a play for Vincent Jackson as I type this. This is coming from an annonymous source of one of the former on-air personalities (Henry Lake) so it is obviously an unconfirmed rumor that should be taken with a grain of salt and I will believe it when I see it. Most of Common's show is a bit however I dont think this is. It may not be accurate, but I dont think its a bit the way they are playing it. Anyways, its possible the Vikes decided after last night's game that the loss of Rice will hurt more than they thought and they may be trying to do something about it now. We'll see...

Berrian is garbage, he's always had bad hands and runs bad routes. The success he's had in the league is from being fast, running straight down field and catching a bomb 50% of the time. Those stats from Chicago are mostly Rex Grossman bombs, many of which Berrian dropped while wide open. I've seen a fair amount of Bears games being in the Detroit market.

I think the real Viking #1 receiving option is Shiancoe, the rest will be very inconsistent.

How does that help them though... Jackson won't play until week 7, and Rice will be back shortly after that. I also think that trading and singing Jackson means Sidney Rice won't be signing any contract extension. As a Packers fan, I'd much rather see Vincent Jackson than Sidney Rice two times a year.

I'm not sure how it could be reduced. The knucklehead has done nothing right so far.

The suspension for his DUI's is for 3 games. Then the Chargers tacked on another 3 games with the roster exempt designation. The arbitration will decide whether the 3 game roster expemption pertains only to the Chargers or for any other team that may trade for him as well. So far the language seems to favor Jackson's camp.

Like I said, it is just a rumor. Could turn out to be true. Could be nothing. I am certainly skeptical and I probably wouldnt have posted it at all but it gave me a chance to demonstrate that new info (or rumors, in this case) can be put in an existing thread and people will read and respond to it. Increasingly, it seems like many folks around here believe the only way anyone will read what they write is if they create a whole new thread...
