I did not remember much of Travis Kelce's early pro or college career and did a bit of reading. Some info for those who didn't know
he played QB in HS
he turned down several offers from other schools (East Mich, Akron, Miami of Ohio) to join his brother at Cincinnati
red shirt first year, hardly played the second, suspended the third
2011 full switch to TE with 13-150-2 stats
last year much better stats 45-722-8
Then he was drafted by the Chiefs, whose new head coach Andy Reid had his brother Jason which surely played a part in what he thought he could get from him. He injured his knee and missed the first season, but had a very good 2nd year and was a Pro Bowl pick the year after. He had an even better season in year 4 other than one fewer TDs, the following year Mahomes joined the team and his numbers continued to improve.
The reason I was looking, was it "all Mahomes" or was it even "mostly thanks to Reid and the offense". Not knocking the player, but he really came into a good situation.
