yo mama
Fire way. Please.  923059[/snapback]     12-team, 0-2 keeper, performance, all TDs 6 pts, 1 PPR, and individual pts for PR/KR. Keeping LT2 only; draft at 1.11, serpintine. 1 QB, 2 RB, 3 WR/TE flex, 1 DEF, 1 K, 6 bench.  Due to a retarded keeper decision by another team, I've got a decent shot at McAllister at 2.2, which is the overall 2nd non-keeper pick in the draft. (Only team ahead of me is commited to K. Jones, instead). My worst case scenario is Barber or Martin at 2.2.  If I get McAllister (or some other ridiculous combo with LT2) I absolutely go WR/WR at 3.11/4.2. (Elite QBs gone; 3rd RB not necessary at this point with that kind of starting RB fire power already on board). I figure either Steve Smith, Horn, or Wayne, plus D-jax, Burleson, or Boldin will be at 3.11/4.2, respectively). I'd be free to use my 5.11 on the best available value for a starting QB, #3 WR, or #3 RB.  However, if I only get Barber/Martin at 2.2, I'll grab C. Williams or Arrington at 3.11 for an early 3rd RB; partly because of the keeper appeal lacking in Martin/Barber, relative to the McAllister option. But partly because I believe they would be killer bye week/injury replacements, with the potential to outperform either Barber or Martin during the second half of the season. If the draft unfolds and I become confident at 3.11 that at either Williams or Arrington would make it to 4.2, then I grab WR #1 instead and take which ever RB is still there at 4.2. Regardless, WR/TE becomes a position I really, really need scope out well for my 5.11, because that's a long way off for my #2 WR. And I still don't have a starting QB, so that's an option, too. I have a sneaky feeling the guy at 5.12/6.1 is going to be looking for at least one WR (based on prior draft patterns, he might be looking for two). So unless good WR value is abundant, or he doesn't have his starting QB yet (making him more likely to grab that QB I was hoping to defer until 6.2), I'd prefer to go WR#2 here and put of the QB.  This is about as far into the chess game as I can predict with confidence, because the the draft could go in a lot of different directions at this point. Obviously I'd prefer the McAllister option, but I need to plan for both. Here are the things I'd like to discuss (yeah, the above stuff isn't what I want to talk about).  1. I think under pretty much every scenario I'll be looking for a #3 WR at 7.11. At that spot I'm realisticly targeting Rod Smith, T.J. Housh, Kennison, Moulds, in that order. But I'd consider myself very, very lucky if Jimmy Smith (least likely), Lelie, or Fitzgerald (most likely) were there. What do you think of my assessment of who will be there? What are your thoughts on my rankings within this tier? Am I leaving any obvious candidates out?  2. QB is likely a position I won't address until 5.11 or 6.2. Now, this league has a demonstrated habit of drafting QBs early. It is very likely that QBs like Bulger, Collins, and/or T. Green will be gone by 5.11. So if those guys fall, super. But I'm going to assume there'll be a run on at least the top 10 QBs by the end of the 5th. I'm realisticaly targeting Favre (least likely), Brooks, Hasselbeck, Vick, Brady (most likely) in the late 5th/early 6th. Thoughts on targeted players or ranking?  3. After the 7th the draft usually goes into a free fall, where value vs. ADP controlls my choices. I'm looking to add the best combo of #2 QB, #4 RB, #4 WR, or #1 DEF, (but only if BAL, BUF, or NE is available). These are some of the players I'm targeting and where I'm currently looking for them. You general reflextions would be appricated: - Mike Anderson: maybe 8.2, maybe 9.11. I'm willing to reach for him a little with the intention of adding Q. Griffin late. I think that's a decent gamble that could turn some late round picks into a very productive #4 RB sometime during the season. In addition to having trouble forecasting Anderson's rising ADP, I'm also having trouble forecasting Griffins. (Would it be realistic to expect griffin to last until my 16th and final round?) - Early #2 QB around 8.2; maybe 9.11 if I'm lucky. Brees, Palmer, Plummer, and Pennington would all be fine with me. Thoughts? - Add Griese, McNair, Warner (in order of preferance) as a #3 QB around 10.2, but I'd be thrilled with any of them at 11.11. Without a stud #1 QB, it'd be nice to have that extra insurance against injury or underperformance at QB #1 and #2. And if I don't need to use this guy, that means I might have productive spare QB to trade during the season. On this subject, I don't much care if you think these QBs will be productive or not (because I'm already willing to roll the dice on any of them, based on my own research). But I am very curious if you think where I'm targeting them is reasonable, late, or premature. - for my #4 WR, I'd LOVE to see S. Moss fall. His reception ratio isn't anything to brag about, but his average yards per catch are. Based on how many looks Coles got last year in Washington, Moss could be in for a big uptick in receiving opportunities if he steps into the same role. It's just a hunch, but I think Moss will produce in excess of 1000 yards and 5 TDs, whereas Coles did not. But I'm having difficulty realisticly targeting him without having to reach.  Honestly, I could go like this for hours. Why don't I stop typing now. But assuming you (or anyone) cares to enter into this kind of substantive discussion, I'm game. Beats the crap out of endlessly discussing which RB people plan to draft in the 1st round.
