pedroz13
Very impressive....but shouldn't they have a back up kicker? They knew he was banged up all year. Do most teams not have a back up kicker of gamedays?

Do most teams not have a back up kicker of gamedays? 1020671 No ... most teams don't want to commit a roster spot to a backup kicker. Often times teams will have one specialist that kicks FGs and another that kicks off ... but even them most teams don't like to commit 2 roster spots to kickers. 'canes2004
Wasn't the prettiest kick ever, but man it looked like he was in pain afterwards.

whomper
Akers is going to seriously hurt himself if he keeps this up. I give credit when its due that was awesome but Reid is letting this guy aggravate this hammy bad..He will never finish the year..
Swiss Cheezhead
I know teams don't carry 2 kickers normally, but considering he was hurt last week, I think I would have signed somebody for insurance. I didn't watch the game, but I know I saw one kickoff that looked like it went about 20 yards.
Gunther
Very impressive....but shouldn't they have a back up kicker? They knew he was banged up all year. Do most teams not have a back up kicker of gamedays? 1020671 Mark Simoneau (linebacker) is their backup kicker. But, as others have said, they do not have a player in the kicker position on the roster as backup.
