Duchess Jack
I have never seen anything like him. There are a lot of supposed 'great special teams players' in the NFL, but no can compare to him. I have not had too many chances to watch cheifs games over the last few years - but everyone that I have seen has had my jaw drop. They guy is simply magical. So, is he a HOFer or would he need a ring to solidify that?
Zooty
If they aren't letting in a punter (Ray Guy), they will never let in a return guy.

Duchess Jack
I am as serious as Laura Bush' panties. How many returns for TDs and average return yards would it take for this guy to be recognized?
Zooty
I am as serious as Laura Bush' panties. How many returns for TDs and average return yards would it take for this guy to be recognized? 1040618 He has about as much of a chance as Billy "White Shoes" Johnson, Dave Meggett, Brian Mitchell, Mel Grey and Steve Tasker. Edit- Add Eric Metcalf for Gil Edited October 3, 2005 by Zooty
Bill Swerski
hall of famer 1040615 Yeah, no kidding. BTW, nice to see another ChiSox fan here.
PantherDave
The ST would not be enough IMHO, but if he could pick up the stats at WR and rise above mediocrity, then and maybe, and I said "maybe", but he'd need a bushel more return TD's and some ProBowl seasons at WR. That's my take.

Duchess Jack
What is the record for combined punt/kick returns for TDs? Were any of the abovementioned as good as Hall? edited to add: I have only been a diehard fan for like 10 years now. I know the names - but that's about it. BTW, yeah, I'd vote for him for the HOF as a return man. He's spectactular. Edited October 3, 2005 by MojoMan
Zooty
What is the record for combined punt/kick returns for TDs? Were any of the abovementioned as good as Hall? 1040631 I don't think setting the record will be enough. He doesn't play as a WR and a ST player with 6 or 7 TDs in their career is not HOF credentials.
whitem0nkey
Yeah, no kidding. BTW, nice to see another ChiSox fan here. 1040622 u inspired me to update my avatar. PaulOttCarruth
The first special teamer in the hall of fame will be Adam Vinitieri (and he'll open the door for Ray Guy and others).
Brentastic
What is the record for combined punt/kick returns for TDs? 1040631 I'd like to know this too. It's gotta be held by Mitchell, but maybe not.
whitem0nkey
if ur making a case for d. hall, i will make a case for a long snapper to go to the hall, Patrick Mannelly - he helped Chicago set an NFL record for most consecutive unblocked punts at 920 -- a record set from 1990 to 2003. The 6-foot-5, 265-pound Duke graduate has handled long-snapping duties on 1,002 of the Bears last 1,022 punts, field goals or extra points. At the same time, he had 57 tackles. he is the best in the business for his respective position. kcmast
The first special teamer in the hall of fame will be Adam Vinitieri (and he'll open the door for Ray Guy and others). 1040706 Vinitieri will go if he has a couple more great years. If Hall gets to 20, you still don't think he goes? I don't think he'll ever get there, but it would have to make him the most dominant return man ever. Zia
IF he gets to 20 (i would say doubtful) and in some short time (he is no baby anymore you know) and still doesnt loses his speed to be effective even after that.... then he will go to the hall (pun intended). problem with going into the hall for special teamers is durability and continous impact on the game and their teams, and playoff success, and of course pro bowls. the missing part here is playoff success., and some pro bowls
