Flip_Side
Reddick will be a ZERO in the NBA. 1385621 I wouldn't go that far buddy. He has a sweet shot, he can handle the ball, he just needs to work on taking the ball to the basket hard. Hook I like you more and more every day. I have a buddy, fellow huddler in fact, who has no affiliation whatsoever with the university and hasn't been within 300 miles of the state of North Carolina. This same buddy has Duke slippers, a Duke inflatable chair, a blue wall in his house, and Duke spamshirts and gear EVERYWHERE!!! He has a dog named Duke, which has a blue collar that reads Duke, and often wears a Duke doggie jersey. How annoying Same guy that is of course the evil commissioner of our local keeper, not to mention 4-time champion. Ehhhhhh. Like a 5'6 lil Italian know it all. My favorite team in all of college basketball is whoever is playing Duke. What is behind all this nonsense??

wildcat2334
He won't even be able to get his shot off in the pros. 1385671 No kidding- I guarantee his stock dropped big time after tonights game...... Let's see... Athletic, quick guards that play tough D on the perimeter...... check Athletic bigs that help and alter/block shots........... check ACC refs not bailing JJ out on every drive to the hole.....check Not good for JJ- pretty much showed what he will do against athletic 6'6 guys in the NBA- he will be average. In the mold of Casey Jacobsen (who is a better athlete) trajan Langdon- the list of 6'3 limited white SG that flame out in the NBA is long. If I was an NBA GM I would not want any part of him. billay
I will say that I think it is very interesting that two high profile ACC players who go to the free throw line constantly both lost in the NCAA tourney when neither of them shot any free throws: Tyler Hanbrough and JJ Redick I guess JJ shot 2 free throws, but they were with about 1 minute to play. chiefjay
Sura is a good ball player, too bad he's hurt. JJ will be a lot like Heinrich (sp?) but I think a poorer version because I like Kirk's game.

JJ will be a lot like Heinrich (sp?) but I think a poorer version because I like Kirk's game. 1386213 Not even close. The only thing JJ and Kirk have in common is their skin color. Kirk is a good athlete with quickness, ball handling and he plays great on the ball D. Much better all around player than JJ. They are not remotely the same kind of player. JJ is more along the lines of Casey Jacobsen, Trajan, Steve Kerr. 6'3 SG with limited ability. Sura - was a GREAT athlete and 6'5- again, not another good comparison. Sura had/has the ability to play the 1,2,3 spots- was a legit active swingman in the NBA. I am not a JJ hater at all- I like him, he is just limited in what he can do in the NBA game. Gopher
Reddick is a lot more similar to Kerr than he is to Sura. Not big or athletic enough to be a legitimate 2-guard in the NBA, but he could have a nice career as a role-player (3-point specialist). Not worthy of more than a 2nd-round pick, IMO. As I said 3-4 weeks ago, Duke wasn't deep enough to get to the Final 4 this year. They only played 7 guys all year, and their freshman PG makes too many mistakes (although he actually played decent at times last night). A lot of the blame for last night's loss will go on Reddick's shoulders because of the poor shooting, but had Duke had a legit 3rd scoring option, he wouldn't have been forced to take as many of the tough shots that he did. Their downfall was their lack of depth and the fact that they only have 2 real scoring options.

They only chance JJ has of becoming a NBA starter is to improve his ball handling and defense and make the transition to PG. He is a hard enough worker that I wouldn't bet against him.
