darin3
Gilthorp is a priiick. You know thos condescending ingratiaters I'm always complaining about? Maybe another time I can meet you, chavez and Spain. Dude, chill ouuuuuut.... Ok, but you may be misreading him. Everyone is different in person and it helps w/ on-line personas. JMHO RR speaks the truth here. Gil's a quality guy, despite him drinking like a little schoolgirl. I'm not sure about that. Darin is moderately ghey on here, but when I met him in person, he was massively ghey. It's clear to me, however, that Gil does not like me and quite frankly, I don't like him either. If he so much as looks at me wrong, I may be forced to react in a way that I will regret. Basically I know myself well enough to stay away from that disaster. and :sigh: I think you're just afraid of the suburbs. I guarantee the guy doesn't "dislike" you. Beyond that, you "disliking" him due to stuff said here is a little strange. But hey, at least you're honest. Have a fun time with spain and his horde of hillbilly sheep, guys! spain
We typically drive straight through, but with a 4 and 2 year old we decided to split it up. So, we drove about 200 miles to Marion, Illinois and got a hotel. Got up and drove the rest of the way in this morning. Naperville is a nice little town out in the burbs. We will be going to one of my wifes old favorite pizza joints tonight. Dam these Yankees talk funny up here! I am sorry that Brent wont be joining us. Meeting huddlers in person is a trip because their real life personality is typically different than their online persona. I have met several huddlers and they have all been somewhat different than I expected. Of course, they all say that I am exactly like the spain they know at the huddle... Yes...I'm sorry Brent won't be joining us as well. It's a shame because when we'll be getting together, a pretty cool local band Mr. Blotto will be playing at RibFest. spain
..... Marion, IL accomodations..... Yes, we thought about staying there what with their wonderful 3 hots and a cot, but you dont get any Hilton Honors points there. I have to stay at a Hilton, DoubleTree, Conrad, Hilton Garden, Embassy Suites, Hampton Inn, or Homewood Suites in order to get my HH points. I spend at least 2 nights a week in a hotel and it is almost always a Double Tree. Well, if you are in Illinois, but arent in greater Chicagoland, then you are very very limited on what hotels are available. This state is one big piece of flat farmland once you get out of the Chicago area. That means no Double Trees or Hiltons. We stayed at a Hampton which is the low budget end of their offerings. It was ok but was cheap for a quick place to shower and sleep on the road. We played a little golf at Cross Creek CC. My brother in law's house is right on the course. Then we walked over and got in the nice pool at the club. Weather here is great. No very hot and no humidity at all. I got up this morning and ran about 5 miles and since there isnt any humidity, it felt like I hadnt even ran a mile. No wonder these yankees are so dang soft. We are taking everyone out to eat tonight, maybe just at the club.

Gonna hit 90+ today, then a cool front is coming Sunday PM. I hate air conditioning.

I am shocked at the lack of humidity here every time I come. We are about to head over to the Farmers Market and then to play more golf. Can I just say that golf sucks? Golf is not any fun, its not good exercise, its boring as he11, and a collosal waste of time. I typically play a couple times per year but dont ever really enjoy it. The only upside is you get to drink while you play!

spain
We sat out on the veranda and had several rounds of drinks and dinner at the Cress Creek Country Club last night. It was very very nice. The weather was absolutely beautiful and it was nice sitting outside in such a nice setting. There were 7 adults, 2 teenagers, plus my 2 youngins! I picked up the check and it makes the guy complaining a few weeks ago about picking up a $400 tab seem like he got off scot free! But it was well worth it since everyone had such a wondeful time together! Then when we got home, we played some 3 on 3 basketball and I thought I was going to die. Havent picked up a ball in years. Then we went out on the golf course and drank wine and played bocci ball in the dark with a couple of flashlights. REO was playing at RibFest last night and we could barely make out the songs as they played in the background. A good time was had by all as usual! spain
I will see you guys at Rock Bottoms this afternoon! I went over to the casino in Aurora this morning to play some poker. Of their whopping 5 table poker room, 3 of the tables were completely full with a waiting list of ~50 people. I put my name on the 3 lists and waited for an hour. I then asked the poker room manager if they would open a couple more tables and he just said, "no". So, left without playing any cards!
