cliaz
Steve Smith, WR CAR News: Panthers WR Steve Smith will play at Tampa Bay in Week 3, according to a team source. No word was given if Smith will start. He was listed as questionable for the game with a hamstring strain that kept him out of the first two games this season. Analysis: You didn't draft Smitty to have him on your bench, did you? Get him active for the game as he should be a helpful contributor for the Panthers (consider him more of a No. 2 Fantasy WR). H8tank
ESPN pre-game was pretty negative for any impact he may have as a result of two my obsession hammy's... his best contribution may be as a decoy for keyshawn if he does suit up. twiley
IMO I'd be a little hesitant with starting Smith this week.
heinzelman
Well dang I'm on the fence also but what the heck, I'm gonna start him as I think that a true competitor who's been down for this long on a team that NEEDS his performance might surprise us. nuke'em ttg
this outcome is really going to fuel my day.........i'm sttin'em.........
Bedoman
Well I guess I'm going against the crowd today and starting Steve Smith. In fact I would start him even if he was in a wheel chair lined up next to Keyshawn Johnson. The Panthers are starting him for a reason....NOT to be a decoy, but becasue they need him to make plays.... Could be a mistake but I would love to know all of your other options without Steve Smith.. We will see but he is in my line up today!!! XFlash
I'm still sitting him in 2 leagues. I did not have him for 2 weeks, one more will not hurt just to be sure he is good to go.

rattsass
I'm keeping him on the bench. ESPN's dim view of his ability in this game sold me.
Sigalf03
I'm keeping him on the bench. ESPN's dim view of his ability in this game sold me. ESPNs fantasy advice always leaves something to be desired
loaf
ESPNs fantasy advice always leaves something to be desired think he's referring to the pregame show
Sigalf03
think he's referring to the pregame show I know, they were running down fantasy advice though. I watched it and they don't expect him to perform much. I know most the signs point to that but the guy is a stud and I believe that if he is playing, its not to be a decoy. rattsass
Yeah, Mort hasn't burned me very often, and if he says Smith won't be a factor, I am taking that as a fact. Could be wrong, but they convinced me on Countdown that it is not a good idea....unless I hear otherwise he's riding the pine on my teams. hollywood_69
i'm starting him, hell after 2 weeks starting lee evans and he got me 4 total points i'm sure smith can get more than that in one game!!! i hope, the panthers need a w and look how they they have looked without him. thats another consideration i'm telling myself to start him! Possum Jenkins
It's either Smith or Coles for me, so I figure Smith seems to be the safer bet right now...
Sigalf03
It's either Smith or Coles for me, so I figure Smith seems to be the safer bet right now... Exact same boat for me, in two leagues. Figure with all the issues in buffalo, (weather, coles injury) smith is the call
ThatDude
I'm trying to decide between Moulds and Steve Smith..... What would you do? I need points
gsmayes
My choices are Steve Smith or Dieon Branch. Branch is only splitting time with Burelson, so they might get about even playing time. Advantage, Steve Smith.

PantherDave
Smith was in no "obvious" pain, and I told you Huddlers on Thursday he'd play(another thread). The pipeline was correct again- 7 rec for 112yds.
PantherDave
It appears that Smith will play, he was in fine shape Wednesday after the running and agility drills, if there were any down falls after Thursday practice-we will no tomorrow. I think the turn has been made and Smith returns Sunday vs Tampa Bay, plus, add the now "chip on the shoulder", and he could come up hugh. Here ya go, those who chose to sit'em-well, I was just doing my Huddler job.
