Fantasy Jesus
Seahawks RB Alexander hopes to play through prayer Written by: Mike Sando ¦ 9/27/2006 Source: blogs.thenewstribune.com Seattle Seahawks running back Shaun Alexander hopes to play Sunday, after all. The NFL's reigning most valuable player is crediting the power of prayer for possibly healing the cracked bone in his left foot. The foot stopped hurting Tuesday and word spread as Alexander began alerting friends and family. Alexander's brother, Durran, confirmed this today and said his famous brother plans to undergo additional tests today. These stories are rare but not without precedent. Reggie White credited prayer for healing his injured hamstring, allowing him to play for the Green Bay Packers in 1995. We'll presumably hear more about this if and when Alexander addresses reporters later in the day. Coach Mike Holmgren will provide the latest information at his press conference today (noon PDT). The team will still determine whether Alexander plays against the Bears on Sunday. The MRI exam he underwent earlier in the week showed a very small crack. If that has cleared up, it's conceivable that Alexander could play this week. At the very least, it sounds like he could be a fast healer. Stay tuned. http://blogs.thenewstribune.com AMEN !!! bushwacked
Well SA might think that Jesus healed his foot, but I'm sure that Mike Holmgren and the medical staff's opinion will differ since they are 3-0 and looking at a bye the week after. AtomicCEO
See this is why it pays to draft Christians over say... Satanists. I don't remember DMD bringing this us in the preseaseon Alexander vs. Tomlinson debates.
Bill Swerski
Do you think it's just a coincidence that devout Christians like SA and LT are bad-asses on the field?
AtomicCEO
Wait a sec... I just realized he credited the "power of prayer"... but he wasn't specific about who he prayed to. Maybe he is a Satanist...? After all, if you're to believe the legends... Satan has a track record of delivering these kinds of selfish results a little quicker than God. Bonehand
I believe he is the Tacoma News Tribune's beat writer for the Hawks....so yes. +1. Sando, and Clare Farnsworth from the PI, are the most solid writers on the 'Hawks beat, IMO.

kwolf68
Slow day in heaven or is there an understudy to our deity pulling the reigns up there and he isn't skilled enough to answer prayers that actually mean crap to the world. Seahawks21
Guys, he's got to be cleared by team doctors before he can play, which will NOT happen. He has a broken bone in his foot. He can not play until it is healed. This is a Shaun PR move. He knows he can't play, so he is going to, like always, attempt to look like the good guy in the situation and say he is ready and can take the pain and really wants to play and thank god and yada yada yada..... bottom line---dude ain't playin.
