Azazello1313
That's why snitching out a CIA operative is something you go to jail for. he's going to jail for making false statements to the FBI and the grand jury. edit: while richard armitage, the individual who DID blow valerie wilson's "cover", hasn't been charged with anything. True. And it is a travesty. There should be numerous charges, IMO, at a minimum based on the security nondisclosure agreement they all signed. After that, I think there are also violatoins of federal law. Libby is a scapegoat just like he and Cheney claimed.

Azazello1313
Libby is a scapegoat just like he and Cheney claimed. what libby is is the one scalp fitzgerald could get. they got into the investigation and determined no underlying crime was comitted as far as leaking plame's identity...but fitzgerald HAD to come up with something. that is the sense in which libby is a scapegoat. Nice spin. While Fitzgerald didn't charge anyone with a crime most still believe outing a CIA operative who was investigating WMD in Iran was a great loss. They had to re call most of their agents in fear for their lives and it was the CIA who wanted this case investigated. If you followed the trial Armitage was not the only one leaking Plame's identity.

On the surface that's true, but Clinton didn't lead us into a war on cherry picked intel. just wanted to point that out.
