Star Trek - The Experience in Las Vegas

This is a very rare trip for me without the wimmin and she wouldn't dream of doing this if it were a normal vacation. My poker buds I'm going with have conferences for a few hours on Thursday and Friday so in the rare chance I have the 2nd nuts against the nuts early in a poker tourney and can't release the hand therefore having a couple of hours to kill, I'm thinking of heading over to this. I see it's only like $42 and might grab a sammich at Quarks.

Anyone done this? :D

We almost did on one of our trips out there, but balked at the cost. I know Vegas is a place for spending crazy money on stuff you wouldn't normally do, but it still didn't seem worth it to us. BUT I have friends that have checked it out and said it's awesome and worth every penny.

If you're there and a true Trekkie(which you are), go for it. Think of it as $42 you won't lose at the poker table. Personally I'd love to go see this myself but never been to Vegas. An old deceased buddy of mine went to Vegas every year and always tried to get me to go. If you go, let us know how it was. Did you bring your Vulcan ears? :D

I'm not into the Vulcan ears. Green wimmin. Mmmmm.

I stayed at the Hilton a few weeks ago and stumbled across this. They have a whole section of the casino dedicated to Star Trek.

Looked pretty dorky. :D

Do you even know what the airport in Vegas looks like when sober? :D

:D

I had the exact same conversation with Darin a few weeks ago. I was moderately drunk when I landed and told him I had no recollection of the Vegas airport when I landed in September for WCOFF... largely in part to me making friends with a bachelorette party on the plane and getting smashed with them.

I got really smashed in the bar once watching a Women's World Cup soccer match. I was served alternately by a Ferengi dude and a Klingon woman.

Like with many Vegas experiences, surreal doesn't adequately describe.

I checked it out during my last trip to Vegas. The ride is pretty average. I liked the museum, and the gift shop has some interesting items for sale. You have to be a pretty dedicated Trekkie to come away with the feeling that it was worth the price of admission.
