gilthorp
Finally broke 80 for the first time this afternoon/evening. Took a client out to my club and although I was leaking oil there from 15-18, I still stumbled home with some great saves and never had the blowup that has affected my chances at a sub 80 round. I've shot 80 on the dime 5 times before, and never could break it. 10 pars 1 birdie 7 bogeys....no blowups at all. Not the greatest course in the world, but it is 6500 yards and tight in places. I'm a happy camper!

SheikYerbuti
I took the Sheikette to the driving range a few days ago. She's never held a club before. After the first few swings she says "This is fun!". I told her "Keep playing. . .you'll hate it soon enough".

I'm a happy camper! I remember the first time I broke 80. I think I was 13. Great job though, that's a great accomplishment! I remember the feeling and I can only think of a couple things that feel better! Congrats ..........

Sam
Sigh....I dream of that very day... I hear ya. I've been able to shoot a solid 9 holes scoring 37 and 39 quite a few times but always seem to screw it up on the back 9.
Cunning Runt
I was almost there myself last time out. 45 on the front. 36 on the back. Golf is such a f'd up game. Guess that's why I like to play it so much.
Big Country
Nice job. Of course, when I saw the thread title, I thought we were doing some more cliaz math in here.
Hat Trick
Feels good doesn't it. I birdied 18 last year to finish with a 79 for my first sub 80 round last year. I didn't play another round after that for the year.

McNasty
I bow to your prowess, gil. Nice round! I have only shot in the 80's a couple of times, and that's on local courses that are pretty easy. And, usually, it means I have played the footwedge at least once.

gilthorp
So...first time out since the 78. 42-46-88....took a quad 9 with two penalties on 16. I hate hitting 3 off the tee, and then losing another one so you're greenside bunker in 6. Played a course that I had never played and a few drives were nasty. Tight course, without my short game and putting, this is a 95. Hard to figure out which is more realistic---I'm leaning towards the 88, when you play the final four holes in 4-9-3-4, it's hard to get a handle.
