Cyclones Posted August 2, 2007 Share Posted August 2, 2007 Hi fellow Huddlers. Wanted to let everyone know that I arrived in Manila at 5pm EST on Tuesday. I promplty slept for 22 hours and have been working the last 2 nights (we are 12 hours ahead here and I work graveyard shift to correspond to EST hours.) So far, so good. I am getting on a plane to Cebu in 4 hours and will spend the next week down there looking for a house. There are a surprisingly large number of hot ladies in Makati City. Its hot here, but no hotter than Miami and no more humid than Honolulu. The employees at the company I am working at treat me like a king and everyone in the service industry (waiters, hotel employees, etc) are also very nice. A 10 minute cab ride is 50 pesos (about $1.03,) a chicken strip meal at KFC is 69 pesos, though it is served with two scoops of rice and beef gravy instead of slaw. The family will head over to join me as soon as I have a house secured and all of our stuff gets here. There are a decent number of light skinned folks here, I'm sure its a combo of Americans, Europeans, and Australians. No regrets as of yet, things have gone well. The bride threw away all my PI pics when we got married but I had several of the "hot" ladies you refer to. I never made it to Manila but spent several adventerous times at other ports of call in the early '70s. Not all the ladies are ladies by the way. Always do a peener check before you spend your money.
