kpholmes
One of my friends/ski instructors when I was younger was best friends and room mates with Bode Miller. Three or Four of us got to ski with him almost every Saturday for a full season. Was an awesome experience.

twiley
I know nothing about skiing, but didn't Miller completely choke last Olympics? Maybe on a fried chicken bone. He lost because he was out of shape and hungover for most of the competitions. He probably has the most raw talent out of any competitor but he's terrible when it comes to conditioning. twiley
Sounds like he needs to stop hanging out with the snowboarders. I remember reading an article where he was bragging about his lack of conditioning and still being able to pull off the wins. I believe this was about 9 months before the Olympics <foot meet mouth>
zmanzzzz
bode viewed the 96 olympics as more of a spectical than a competetion. he wanted to enjoy the event as much as possible, which meant late night partying, not training very hard and a general lack of drive, kind of like the pro bowl. unfortunatly, the media and the american people view the olympics as the ultimate testing ground for world class athletes and bode really let them down. he had the world's eye in the palm of his hand and decided to do a bong hit rather than live up to others expectations. i kind of respect him for that. since then he has cut all ties with the highly political u.s. ski team and trains and travels on his own, another thing i respect him for. as you can see the 96 season as a whole lived right up to expectations, those results dont get noticed. and he has beautiful naturally curly hair. As I recall, he was snoozing in his very own camper rathe than with the ski team when he blew the Olympics last time around. His talent is undeniable, really. His use of it frequently leaves a bit to be desired.
wiegie
I have been watching skiing over here all year (it's on all of the time) and Miller has been just tearing it up--he seems like a real a-hole as a person though.
