wiegie
I just came across this home listing and a few things jumped out at me as somewhat amusing. http://public.grar.com/public/addmed.mac/list?MLS=701799
rajncajn
Other than the crappy furniture, decorations & several misspelled words in the captions(none of which would be included) I rather like the house. Much better than mine anyway. Kitchen needs a serious upgrade to go with the rest of the house and the interior needs a better selection of paints. wiegie
I didn't say that there was anything necessarily bad about the house, just amusing. (Edit to add: but maybe it is only amusing to me). Edited February 26, 2008 by wiegie
Kid Cid
I have to say that the current owners drink to excess, vomit on the street, and pick their house colors from the remnants they find floating there. BTW, you couldn't touch that house for less than $400K where I live. I'm jealous.

Well in that case I love the placement of the Christmas tree, but I'd bet it's a bitch to decorate.

Savage Beatings
Hey House, you stink you big jerk!
TimC
It appears the dirt/mulch is way to close to the siding. Should be at least 6" gap. Stupid people and their stupid house.
AtomicCEO
Hey House, you stink you big jerk! Yeah House! You're so split-level, you need a psycho therapist! Your garage is so big, Big foot and Truckzilla made a sweet deisel baby in there. Honestly, for 179, I would have pounced on that house even if it needed a new foundation. You couldn't pick up that house for less than 240K around me, and I've been looking.
wiegie
So I'm the only person who thinks having a $10,000 home entertainment system in a $180,000 home is out of line (combined with the fact that the entertainment system has a 16x9 foot screen in a room that forces people to be within about 10 feet of the screen when looking at it)? xlence
Clock above fireplace looks way bigger than the TV Looks like they strung a bed sheet across the oversized window Recliner appears to have fart soaked cushions
twiley
That's a great price and 10K seems a little excessive. It's similar to my sister-in-law who put a 65K kitchen into her 120K house. That house would almost be triple the price around me.

Azazello1313
So I'm the only person who thinks having a $10,000 home entertainment system in a $180,000 home is out of line (combined with the fact that the entertainment system has a 16x9 foot screen in a room that forces people to be within about 10 feet of the screen when looking at it)? that is the punchline? i'd say it's all relative. if you can get enough house for your family's needs for 180K, i don't see why you'd spend more even if you could easily afford to. and if you can afford a nice home theater setup and that's a priority for you, cool. if the house was a total dump except for that room, you'd have a point. but it looks nice enough and big enough throughout. wiegie
that is the punchline? well, that and the giant clock (well, and the fact that it seems that they consider "professional landscaping" to consist of having some day-laborers plant some shrubs that you bought at Home Depot) but, yeah, that is pretty much it
Hugh 0ne
well, that and the giant clock (well, and the fact that it seems that they consider "professional landscaping" to consist of having some day-laborers plant some shrubs that you bought at Home Depot) but, yeah, that is pretty much it Wow, what a f*cking elitist. wiegie
Wow, what a f*cking elitist. I'm elitist because I think it is dumb to spend $10,000 on a television projector screen so big that it would be almost impossible to comfortably watch it in the room that you put it in? Or because I call BS when somebody calls their shrubs "professionally landscaped" in an attempt to make them sound better than they really are? Or because I think Big Ben belongs in a clock-tower in London instead of on a living room wall? Nevermind, I figured it out... I am an elitist because I am looking at homes in the $180,000 price range. You got me. Edited February 26, 2008 by wiegie

Double Agent
So I'm the only person who thinks having a $10,000 home entertainment system in a $180,000 home is out of line (combined with the fact that the entertainment system has a 16x9 foot screen in a room that forces people to be within about 10 feet of the screen when looking at it)? I don't think it's a 16 foot by 9 foot screen. It's a typo. The aspect ratio is 16x9 but there's no way that baby is 9 feet tall.
wiegie
The house is actually in a good school district and is close to shopping and the highway. Perhaps when I get back to Michigan, I should put a bid in on it. The clock has to stay with the house though.
