i_am_the_swammi
The Phillies had there 10 going in to the 9th inning with a 9 run lead. But they figured they needed an insurance run and score #11 in the top of the ninth for a 10 run win It's actually a little uglier than that....I know, I watched in disbelief until 12:45 last night. Utley doubled with one out, and Howard moved him to third on a ground out. Two outs, and Taguchi up (batting .205, BTW). On a 3-2 pitch, grounds weakly to Diamondbacks 3rd baseman Mark Reynolds, who procedes to boot the easy ball, allowing Utley to score the 11th run. Congrats, Mark, on your league-leading 7th error of the season. the 10 runs would have meant the Phils needed just a "0", and with Randy Johnsona and Brandon Webb on deck, it could have been this week. In pool # 1 they just need the 0. Webb may be the best chance they have to get shut down

rbmcdonald
Astros (0) only need 1 more number Well the Astros scored off Lowe in the 2nd tonight, and face Billingsley 4.54 and Kuroda 3.95, then they move on for 4 with SF (17th in the league in team ERA), and then it is on to play the worthless Rangers. Not looking good for a 0.

alchico
Will there be a second pool Al? Sure, why not. But i will take a short hiatus before the next one starts. I also thought of expanding the prize pool for the next one. Give the winner $500 (still a nice chunk of change and split the rest over several other possiblities) 1. Maybe pay more than just first place-at least second maybe 3rd 2. most scores over 10 3. most duplicate scores (for rockn) Just some ideas, if anyone has any suggestions just add to the list. I'll bring this up when i restart the pool. Edited May 12, 2008 by alchico
