But the under water view showed the other guy sort of gliding as he was reaching, where Phelps did one last miraculous lunge and beat him by a fingernail. Phelps is a freak of nature. Yeah, .01 is hard to see with the human eye. It's natural to think the other guy won when he had such a long stroke going to the wall, but Phelps' lunge was HUGH - that's why the man's da champ! I can see why the other country had to protest the win, but they are electronic pads that the swimmers touch, so it's not like someone chose Phelps over Cavic. The only thing that you can protest, I imagine, is if he took an illegal stroke... meaning it was not the Butterfly, or an approved kick or arm movement to get into the wall.
