SheikYerbuti
Just looked it up and Kimbo is over a 3-1 favorite. Maybe Shamrock is a good value bet? Anyway, who wins?
Furd
Shamrock hasn't won a fight since 1978.
SheikYerbuti
Shamrock hasn't won a fight since 1978. Well yeah, but so far Kimbo has only been able to beat this guy.
Riffraff
Kimbo is fighting the mid 40 year old crowd to beef up his record. He should win this fight. Kimbo, already in his mid 30s, won't be around much longer as a novelty act (except as a stiff to beef up another's record).
Furd
Well yeah, but so far Kimbo has only been able to beat this guy. I know what you're saying, but at this stage of his career, Shamrock is a tomato can. He's 44 years old. He's going to be giving up 30 pounds to Slice. Slice has the advantage in power and strength. The only chance that Shamrock has is a joint lock, probably an ankle lock. Its been a long time since he has submitted anybody. Shamrock loses in the first round - KO or TKO. I Like Soup
If Kimbo gets tired like he did in his last fight, I think Shamrock can win. Kimbo's biggest weakness is his ground game. If it goes to the ground, he will be in serious trouble with someone like Shamrock, who has a sound ground game. That is, of course, if Shamrock's head is still attached. wildcat2334
couple tomato cans you kidding me? if like soup said above- if Shamrock can take it to the ground, he has a good shot at submitting Slice Shamrock has at least fought some studs over the past few years unlike Slice - could be interesting
budlitebrad
I'm hearing rumors that Shamrock is a scratch due to a cut above his eye. If true, just one more reason EliteXC is such a joke. In actual MMA news, the card for UFC 92 looks pretty fn solid:: Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira vs. Frank Mir HW Title Bout Forrest Griffin vs. Rashad Evans LHW Title Bout Wanderlei Silva vs. Quinton Jackson CB Dolloway vs. Jorge Rivera Yushin Okami vs. Dean Lister Cheick Kongo vs. Mustapha Al-Turk Brad Blackburn vs. Ryo Chonan Edited October 4, 2008 by budlitebrad
budlitebrad
Ken Shamrock out of "EliteXC: Heat" due to injuryby MMAjunkie.com Staff on Oct 04, 2008 at 6:34 pm ET An undisclosed injury has forced Ken Shamrock out of his "EliteXC: Heat" main event bout with Kevin "Kimbo Slice" Ferguson just hours before the heavyweight clash was set to air on network television. MMAjunkie.com has confirmed with EliteXC officials that Shamrock suffered an in jury within the past 24 hours and will not be able to compete in tonight's main event. EliteXC officials are scrambling for a last-second replacement to fill in for Shamrock against undefeated Ferguson. Kimbo will fight Seth Petruzelli instead. Probably an improvement over Shamrock. Riffraff
How did Kimbo end up on the ground? Was it a kick? While it happened during a missed kick, it was a right fist that dropped Kimbo. Glass chin for such a cheesy punch
Delicious_bass
While it happened during a missed kick, it was a right fist that dropped Kimbo.Glass chin for such a cheesy punch Agreed. Didnt look like anything special as far as right hands goes. Clearly it shook up KS, though, and then he was completely defenseless. If that English guy had a little more skill, he would have beat Slice in the last fight as he had him down and pretty helpless. Once up, Kimbo caught him with some big shots, nearly knocked his ear off and won the fight. Anyways, it was only a matter of time before Kimbo's lack of disciplined fighting skills caught up with him even in the EliteXC. Back to the alleys/back yards and YouTube for Kimbo
I Like Soup
And that should be the end of EliteXC... Lets hope not. I think their cards have at least been entertaining and on national TV. Oops. Bye-bye Kimbo, Did you see the fat guy that fought Arlovski? Reminded me of UFC 1. Yeah, Arlovski's last two fights have been against "champions" from other fighting "leagues"...Arlovski is still a total bad ass. Frank Mir recently said he thinks Arlovski is the best heavyweight striker right now.
