Perchoutofwater
So, I've got a back ache, and am lounging around the house. There is nothing on TV, so I stumble across a documentary called "Right America Feeling Wronged" on HBO. Well I had nothing better to do, so I watched it. The whole time I'm watching it, I'm thinking did they go out and try to find the most ignorant and racist people they could for interviews. Then I find out that the person putting the documentary together was Nancy Pelosi's daughter. Amazing!

Talk about misrepresentation!! Geez... I had to laugh so as not to cry at how the "right" was portrayed. Sadly, some people actually think they ARE just like these idiots! It would be the equivalent of doing a documentary on why Muslims have been wronged and only interviewing extremist suicide bombers... I thought the name might be just a coincidence (didn't bother look it up). It makes more sense now. I think she is trying to make a run at Michael Moore's lock for the "least responsible" or "most slanted and biased" journalist awards! Vicster
I love the fact that to follow up their interviews at some of the conventions which included talking to a kid who spelled Socialism wrong on his shirt (left out the A), they went to a Nascar race in Mississippi (I think Miss, but it was the south). There is no better place in the country to get a wonderfully poignant interview with a conservative than beside an RV at a Nascar event. For almost a decade we have been inundated with the notion, mostly by the right that we elite east and west coasters "didn t get it", that the fly over states were "more American" than the North East, and that the NASCAR ans hunting community was the hot electoral block that swung elections now. My comment wasn't meant to diminish Nascar fans. My point was that they go to an event like that and find people who are clearly drinking and then begin to ask their opinions on politics. I don't think that you are going to get some meaningful dialogue with someone a few sheets to the wind.
Jimmy Neutron
Interesting that some dems are pushing for the fairness doctrine when some of their own ilk produce material rivaliing the conservative megalomaniacs they're targeting on talk radio. Interesting that some conservatives support boy rape. You know... as long as we're picking a pretty small minority to identify the other side with, I thought that would be fair. Clubfoothead
To us bipartisanship is them being forced to agree with us after we have politically cleaned their clocks and beaten them. Democrats may not be my friends but I know who my enemies are.

A lot of the ones interviewed are the ones who will stand for hours just to see Sarah Palin talk. There are some crazy people in this country. bushwacked
So, I don't want to defend the documentary as an accurate portrayal of the remnants of what voting for the right is supposed to be. But, I've spent quite of bit of time in the South, over the last 5 years. And the aura here is completely bassackwards. Let us not try to pretend that this wacky radical racism crap isn't severely more prevalent down in the land of milk and humidity filled honey. Chavez
I don't think that you are going to get some meaningful dialogue with someone a few sheets to the wind. I've had plenty of meaningful discussion when fortified with copious amounts of social lubricant.
