Getting me some Platelet Rich Plasma

So, apparently there's a new treatment in sports medicine called PRP, or platelet rich plasma. I'm training for the NYC marathon in November, and once again am having knee pain associated with my ITB (iliotibial band - runner's knee), so my orthopedist suggested PRP. Anyone know anything about this or had it done?

Going today at noon, hoping for a succesful treatment.

I'd rather have a shot of tequila but hey..whatever works for you!

Seriously, though, I have never heard of it. Good luck!

I believe you use your own blood and its basically taking the plasma platelets out of the blood and isolating them. Then they re-inject those platelets back into your knee. Plasma is a very common treatment for burn patients and such. I've been donating plasma for years and I've only briefly heard of the PRP treatment.

I was sneaking in your underwear drawer last night and put some extra platelets in there. Is that what it means?

Hawt. Did you sniff the crotch of my yellow thong? I wore that thing for 3 days straight without showering and haven't washed it.
