BeeR
Think SSmith will sucker punch him? Funny that SS thinks anyone is a punk. lol yep, talk about a poster child for punks
bpwallace49
The kid is supposed to play QB and lead a team. I guess that means he cant talk to or direct his receivers. This superhype on Clausen is getting out of hand . . . just let the kid try to play . . he wont start this year anyways.
kpholmes
Seriously though, I don't know why this is surprising for anyone. There's a reason the kid's stock free-fell to the second round, and it's largely to do with him throwing his receivers under the bus on national television with John Gruden. He's a premadona. BearBroncos
Clausen's over rated, for sure, but I honestly don't think that is what drove his stock down. Granted, he's a pompous behind, he has some talent. I still don't know if it's enough talent to be an NFL star, however.
BearBroncos
is that like a fetus madona?
Menudo
All Notre Dame players, with the exception of Jerome Bettis and Joe Montana, are punks. That is why you need to find players from a smaller Ohio school in the mid-major conference like the MAC, especially at an important position like quarterback. If they wear a Red 'M' on their helmet and fit the previous requirement, then you don't have to worry about him being a punk.

ABearWithFurniture
hmmm...now there's a report that Steve wants a retraction that he never said that, although ProFootballTalk is standing by their story. You got to think Smith would 'man up' to it if he really said it...

rattsass
Philip Rivers is a "punk" and he has done okay. I'm not ready to write him off just because he might have put a few people off right off the bat. Most people take an instant hatred to me right off the bat, and then over time, wait a minute, bad example. Carry on.
electricrelish
Steve Smith is on the radio station WFNZ right now. He says that he never said it. He said if wanted to say something like that to Jimmy Clausen, he would do so in his face. Being a local, I've heard lots of interviews with Steve Smith, and he is always straightforward and genuine. Smith tends to not deliver cliche or BS answers, so I find myself believing a direct named source like Smith rather than Mike Florio's unnamed source. I love PFT, but Florio is no journalist, and he reminds me of Mike Drudge, who has also published stories without at least two credible sources. Square
Meh, I don't like Clausen but I think part of his "free fall" was do to the deep level of talent at other positions in this draft. He isn't that bad of a prospect and we have plenty of QBs that aren't "nice guys" do well in the NFL (Rivers, Cutler, are the two that jump off my head). I'd like to see him get his shot after being slowly worked into the offense (if the MM experiment doesn't hold up).
hooknladder
This is Tony Pike's team. ....i don't think this is that far off the mark. i think Pike has more of an NFL look. -maybe i'm just
tazinib1
I still have not seen a viable argument to backup somebody's assessment that Phillip Rivers is a punk. Please give me some examples. Or are you talking about the Cutler incident. If you are and don't know the entire story, maybe you should research alittle bit there home slices before joining the rest of the ill informed.
