DMD
We can have Chicken Little Red Dawn Apocalypse stories, but this gets ridiculed? Pass the moonshine, Opie. Just in case this is an oversight from being from California, but the name "Opie" is not being deraugatory to southerners. Other than the Andy Griffith Show (1960-1968), Opie is not a name you would ever hear someone having in the south. Not even sure what it is a nickname for. Better options would be "Pass the moonshine, Cletus or Bobby Ray or Billy Joe or JT or just the familiar Bubba. The only thing that Opie calls up is the vision of a young boy going fishing with his Dad on TV and they would not have moonshine because the Dad is the sheriff. I think Bubba is really the catchall here. It is also interesting for you to group Chicken Little (the sky is falling but is really an acorn) and Red Dawn, a popular movie about the invasion of the US by Russian/Cuban-esque forces. In both, there are things falling from the sky but whereas one is merely a misidentification of a nonthreat, the other is about a threat that is very much played out and which serves as sore reminder for us all of the tenuous nature of our freedom and the need to.... and... the wifey.... has finally left the building... ... now instead of looking busy I can get back to Call of Duty Modern Warfare
