BeeR
The History Channel implies it is at least a strong possibility. I'm sure towlies everywhere will rejoice. Weird/interesting possibility though. But maybe that's how the abolitionists got started. I can see it now.... (Ben Franklin, talking while holding breath due to a big toke on a doobie): "Hey Alex, got an idea......" Alex: "OK but pass that over first" Ben: "Let's......(smiles)....." Alex: (smiling) "What?" Ben: "Let's.......(starts snickering)....." Alex: (snickering although no idea why) "What??" Ben: "Let's......let's START A MOVEMENT TO HELP FREE THE SLAVES LMAO" (bursts out laughing) Alex: (cracks up laughing) (more laughter) Ben: "No, wait, seriously.........because.........wait for it......ALL MEN ARE CREATED EQUAL OMG LMFAO" (uncontrolled laughter) (a long time later, after laughter has finally died down) Ben: "No, really let's do it." Alex: "Oh cmon wtph John" Edited April 15, 2011 by BeeR

i_am_the_swammi
To be honest, it might do more good than harm for our current government to fire up some gravity bongs, fill the capital dome with smoke, and let loose on some budget dialogue. lennykravitz2004
OK, I know the link to Huffington Post (I just grabbed the first link). But the info is till the same on other sites. Medical Josh Gordon sales will total $1.7 billion in 2011, just $200 million less than sales for Viagra, Ted Rose, the study's author, said in a conference call with reporters. The report surveyed just seven states where medical Josh Gordon is bought and sold in the open market: California, Colorado, Michigan, Montana, Washington, Oregon and New Mexico. If I understand this right, seven states of legal pot equal fifty states of legal Viagra sales (OK, come within $200 million). Heck, the first couple of copies of our most important document - the Declaration of Independence - were written on hemp. Nationally controlled legalization is only a matter of time. There's too much money at stake. Something our founding fathers would certainly understand, even today.

I Like Soup
Not surprising since it was legal back in their day. It only became illegal in the mid 1900's and I believe one of the biggest drivers for it was the Feds couldn't figure out how to tax it since it was pouring over the US/Mexican border. I think this has already been going on for some time. It would explain a lot.
