Just heard a report that Indy is demoting Matt Ryan to 3rd string QB.

Don't think anyone is starting him these days, but what does that mean for JT and Pittman?

Whaaaaaaaaaaat?  Wow.  I see they're going to Ehlinger, which means Pittman's value dips.  I wouldn't say Taylor's value changes.  I would say Parris Campbell's stock rises a bit, but it already was trending up even with Ryan under center.

Ol' Sam must be looking great in practice for them to go to him instead of the veteran Foles, who's shown what he can do.

What a cluster-f.

Does it really though? Ryan couldn't get it to him. This could be a good thing.

It could mean a heavier work load for JT.  Lots of checkdowns and conservative play calling at the start.  Don't know much about the new QB.

He's mobile and can pull off designed runs.  I would say the passing game takes a hit overall just cuz he'll be throwing less.

We don't know that just yet. He and Ryan were having a real hard time getting on the same page at times. This could end up being a good thing.

True hard to say yet, until the new guy plays. I was thinking his numbers seemed down already this year, but that's not the case for the most part. His numbers so far thru 6 gams are pretty impressive, about half his last season total in just 6 games, but just 1 TD.

2021 88rec (129tgt) 1082 yds 6TDs (68.2% catch rate 8.4yds/tgt)

2022 44rec (61tgt) 475 yds 1TD (72.1% catch rate 7.8yds/tgt)

I'm a huge Pittman fan and probably overdrafted him in most leagues. I think the targets will be there regardless, Ryan just couldn't get out of his own way.

that's how I see it.  Ryan was **that** bad that an NFL 1st start by a kid like this sounds like an instant improvement.

Yeah odd statement to say someone won't play again this year. Sounds like an order coming down from the front office. I would assume that is probably the last we will see of Matt Ryan

If you didn't read the story LC posted (which I quoted earlier) about Ryan's contract being the key reason he won't play again you should. (It has even more money guaranteed if he's injured, and they don't want risk that.)
