keggerz
or too much depth? In one of my leagues I have a pretty stout offense and as I was setting my lineup for week 1 I decided to set lineups for all 16 weeks just so I could look at the weekly matchups...dont get me wrong i dont think you can ever really have to much depth or to many studs but when you have that problem you are almost always gonna leave points on the bench this is where my problems will be: we start 1-3RBs & 2-4WRs for a total of 5 Starters and I have to pick 5 from these guys: RB Rudi, Jordan, Chester WR Chad Johnson, SSmith, RoyWilliams, Rod Smith For week one I am going to keep Chester on the bench since I think that Washington has a pretty good run defense, and Rod will ride pine in favor of Roy(i think martz will want to lite it up for the hometown fans) so how do others deal with issues like this? Do you ride the "STUD" all the time knowing the law of averages or do you try and exploit the matchup...i for one will be exploiting the matchup or should I say trying to... last yr I had Hasslebeck and Brees on this team and it seemed like I always started the wrong guy...I traded Brees this yr and now Frye is my backup so I wont have that problem this yr

Even if you don't use them at least it keeps them off your opponents rosters.
Randall
I don't believe in the Law of Averages. Ride the stud. Playing with matchups usually hurts me with all but the most consistent players. Even Tom Brady did last season and few are more consistent.
Capt. Stanky
I wouldn't start CTaylor until the Vikings running game gets on track, but once it does I wouldn't play matchups too much with that group. I'd only look at playing matchups in extreme situations like CTaylor playing the Bears. I would be starting: Rudi Lamont CTaylor CJohnson SSmith RB's are so much more consistent than WR's. You have a good situation to be in. If you don't have injury's you can look to trade some depth later in the season for better starters. keggerz
You were the one who said "Never bench your studs!". well I am not looking for advice but when i saw my dilemna with a few weeks I thought it was worthy of starting a possible debate...my particular problem is that I think both Chester and Roy are gonna jump to Stud Status this yr :P

All things being equal I would go RB, CT over both those WR's.
1st and punt
this may sound crazy but.... while i agree with the idea of never benching your studs I think the idea can backfire as well... two of the five years I have been playing fantasy football I have been able to trade and work my way into a roster that is all top 20 people... people you would never bench... you just plug them in and leave them alone... both times that has happened I have lost in the playoffs.... I have won it all twice in 5 years, but it has never been with a no brainer roster....always a few upside guys that have good matchups... so I think having an allstar roster can backfire sometimes... muck
Sometimes you've got to "make the right call" ... and a couple of years ago, I won a league by starting Kerry Collins over Duante Culpepper in our SB.
Bier Meister
no... can't have too many studs. 1. gives you depth 2. gives you leverage in trades 3. keeps points away from opponents
