NFLYES
Unfortunately After LJ was gone, I was one of those guys that passed on LT and drafted SA. This looks like a big mistake. Three games......one TD.........struggling to get 3 yds/car. against Det, Arz, & NyG. I guess the favorable strength of schedule is offset by the loss of a great OG. He's looking very average. It seems he's off the field more than he's on it. Is it really the foot?? UP next....DA Bears! Yikes!! What are you other SA owners thinking?? Ursa Majoris
This SA owner is thinking he should have gone for LT, but I'm not panicking yet. Next week is going to be the acid test.
Gunther
I certainly did not mind getting LT2, but I will admit that I was hoping that SA would fall to me at the draft.
URLACHERisGOD
I had a top 3 pick in only one of my leagues (redraft) and it was actually the #1. I went with LT2 with my first overall pick and still feel justified for doing so.
TheCMB
I took LT over SA at #2, it's everything else that's gone wrong for me this year, like trading Lav Coles for Michael Clayton on draft day.
Selly
Due to 2 idiots at my draft local I got SA @ 1.5, so I can't be too disappointed, but that hasn't kept me from exploring some trades. Of course as soon as I trade him, he'll go off like Westbrook did this week.
rai
I had the 5th pick in my draft. I had LT on my board as #1 overall. Out league gives 1 for 10 rec yards and 1 for 20 rush yards. Well this is how the draft went: LJ Peyton SA LT Tiki (me) Damn one pick higher and I'd be golden. F-it missed LT by one pick and my consolation prize is f-en Tiki. Not to worry so I pick SS in round 2 ( ) then Wayne in round 3 ( ) do these guys need an invitation to enter the end zone. Wayne has been tackeled at the 1 or 2 yard line at least twice that I've seen and I only have seen about 10% of the colts plays.
Bronco Billy
Funny that all the chicken littles were so worried about Johnson being the one of the top 3 RBs who would perform well below value. While Johnson hasn't scored TDs, he has amassed enough yds that he is the #3 or #4 RB in FF ppw, while Alexander is the one lagging well below value. Alexander just isn't putting up enough yards, and it probably won't get too much better since he isn't as versatile as LT or LJ in the offense. Alexander owners had better hope that SEA WRs start getting tackled inside the 5 a lot. Edited September 25, 2006 by Bronco Billy
loaf
I did. over LJ too.
kraftykraft
Sean Alexander went with the second pick in our league too. My best friend picked 3rd and took Ladainian and told me that if SA had been on the board there instead of LT, he would have gone for Tiki Barber instead of LT. Go figure... skylive5
We had Alexander rated 1, LT 2, and LJ 3. We had the 2nd pick and fully expected to have Alexander fall as we were sure that the #1 pick would take LJ. The #1 took Alexander... and we took LT... which I think we will be eternally grateful to the #1 for.
rebdog
I know this isn't quite the same thing, but I'm in a keeper league. Over a year ago I traded Alexander for LT. Alexander was tearing it up as usual, but I knew that LT would produce no matter what he had around him. I felt Alexander was as much a product of his Oline as anything. At this point, I'm glad I made the deal. Edited September 25, 2006 by rebdog
Wolv
So far it certainly seems like LT was THE pick. We'll see if we feel the same way come FF playoff time, when LT typically tanks for his owners.
Bonehand
This SA owner is thinking he should have gone for LT, but I'm not panicking yet. Next week is going to be the acid test. I don't think so. SA is dinged up & needs to rest that foot. I expect another 50 yards & one score next week vs. the stout CHI D, but after that he will heal up over the bye & be serviceable again vs. STL in week 6. LooGie
i've been really intrigued so many people were ranking LT2 at #3. I had him #1 all off season. I thought LJ had the upside to be #1, but no matter what you were getting #1 or #2 with LT2. Where as LJ could've been 5 or even lower. Call me supestitious, but I believe in the Madden Curse. Not because of being on the cover, but the only people who are on the cover are the ones that had incredible years, and therfore, are hard to reproduce. Maybe they even try too hard to do it, and end up injuring themselves. I would've taken Tiki over Shaun this year, but no lower than that. That would just be stupid. Teatime_Ninjas
I don't think so. SA is dinged up & needs to rest that foot. I expect another 50 yards & one score next week vs. the stout CHI D, but after that he will heal up over the bye & be serviceable again vs. STL in week 6. Totally correct, IMO. Shaun's foot hurts more than anything has been let on. If anyone has watched the Seahawks' last two games against the Cards and the Giants, you'll notice that Alexander has been a step slow (he looks noticeably slower getting to the line of scrimmage compared to last year) and he gets up with a slight limp almost every running play... He gets that foot healed up, he'll be fine... do they miss Hutch? Yes... but I think that's #3 reason why Alexander's numbers will end up down over last year. #2 is Holmgren has always been more of a "throwing" coach... not as much as Reid, but definitely prefers the passing game. Last year, they had to run Shaun a lot because there weren't as many weapons in the passing game last year... DJax was hurt a lot last year, Engram missed time, etc. This year, DJax, Branch, Engram, and Burleson mean they match up really well against any secondary, and passing looks favorable in most situations. They also ran a lot because their defense wasn't as good... so they had to try to keep the other team off the field as much as possible. This year, they have a ton of confidence in the defense's ability to stop the other team. For instance, the first play of the game was a called interception by Hasselbeck. It really was a dual posession ball, and the tie should have gone to the WR, not to the DB. Probably could have won a challenge, and Hass was smoking mad at Holmgren for not calling it. I could see Holmgren waving Hass off, likely telling him to calm down... and what do you know, the very next play, the Seahawks picked off Manning to get the ball back. He had confidence enough in the D to get the ball back and not possibly waste a challenge. So... Shaun's foot + more options in the passing game + loss of Hutch + more confidence in D to take more chances on O = less numbers for Shaun this year. Ursa Majoris
Well, if I have to have two weeks with no SA in my lineup, at least one of those weeks would be against the Bears. Every cloud has a silver lining.
yo mama
Not me. LT2 was my #1 pick this year, regardless of format.
MERLINS
This year sucks. I had the 3rd overall, LT went 1, LJ 2 and I thought I lucked out by having SA (whom I would have taken #1). Yeah right. I am starting to believe in this curse, plus Alexander getting his $$$$. This injury is horrible (foot) and there is already talk of him out for this week against (who else) the Bears. I almost would like him to sit and rest to prepare for weeks following at this rate. He is killing me in my deep 16 team league. I am starting to cash it in already in my league with this lackluster performances thus far.
T-Scorp
Took LT number 1 overall in my main league. Too bad SD is blowing everyone out and he is getting rested by the 3rd quarter! Took LT because of the Madden curse on SA and the loss of Richards and lineman in KC. Through 2 weeks I look smart but there are still plenty of games left.
