msaint
I'd be saying this even if Brady's foot wasn't banged up (which I think is more about getting him LT-like R&R in pre-season than about an actual, worrisome injury...ditto Peyton). But anyway, there is no more significant starter-backup talent drop-off in the NFL than Brady to Cassell. (Sorgi is Marino, Tarkenton and Unitas rolled into one compared to our #2 guy). And the glaring discrepancy is not because Brady is all world-good, it's because Cassell is all world- bad. A buddy who was there said it's so clear that both Welker and Moss do NOT like playing with him, and the team just has a lethargic vibe when he's under center. Wasn't able to make the game in person last night, but wondering if any Pats homers who were there live thought that Cassell looked as bad in person as he did on the tube. Pats need to commit to Guitterez as the #2 or wait for some late camp cuts (Siimms?) because Cassell is clearly not the answer, especially when there's even the slightest concern about Brady being banged up. loaf
I've been thinking that for a couple years now. With all the shrewd moves BB's made and with the great eye for talent, what does he see in him that no one else does?
Puddy
Too bad for the Pats that the Lions just snagged Drew Henson.
CaptainHook
Colts have Sorgi, Quinn Gray, and the Hefty Lefty. They'll have to cut at least one of 'em.
Bring Back Pat!!!
Wasn't at the game, but have watched all three games so far. Cassell is brutal. 15 posessions and no TD drives lead for him yet. My prediction: Matt Cassell does not make this team. Gutierrez goes in as the number two unless a veteran gets cut that will come cheap, and O'Connell is put on the PS. tazinib1
They should make a run at John Beck if/when he's released by Miami. Edited August 23, 2008 by tazinib1

BeeR
I hear Aaron Brooks is avail. Unfortunately (for the Colts) Sorgi won't be, so I would snatch up Lorz'n or Gray quickly. Both looked decent in pre-season.
AtomicCEO
They should make a run at John Beck if/when he's released by Miami. Either him or Josh McCown.

rehab
Gutierez is a solid #2. He has the hidden potential to be the next Brady if he goes down. The kid is a stud.

Sugar Magnolia
I think Bledsoe's available. Nope-he's enjoying building his 7,000 sq. ft., 4 mil dream house on a 10 acre parcel at Cascade Highlands (the lots go for 1.5 mil), which is the primo real estate in Bend, OR. Soon, I will have a view of his new house from the top of Awbrey Butte. He's actually done wonderful fund raising for local high school sports in the area, and has four young kids who he's getting to now spend some time with. Local merchants around town say he's a really classy and friendly guy. I really doubt you'll ever see him on the field unless his investments really take a dive.
