chiefjay
Ellen's doing a pretty good job so far. Solid humor, good script, etc... Surprised Alan Arkin won, thought his performance was solid but not Oscar worthy. Enjoyed the Will Ferrell / Jack Black / John Reilly piece. Nicholson bald? I don't know about that. Must be for his current role.

wiegie
The thing that impresses me the most are the shadow puppet people. The thing that impresses me the least is the when they get all self-congratulatory about their "causes".
Timmypg
I thought Eddie Murphy would win supporting actor. Why is Ellen dressed like a man? I know she's gay but still.

cliaz
I find the Oscars, The Tony's and the grammys a waste of money that could be better spent in the name of education, healthcare and the such. Lets give an award show to billonaires and millionaires to tell them how good their job was at acting. Why do I hate America?
muck
I hope my wife is as attractive as Helen Mirren is when she is as old as Ms. Mirren is now. That and, I was a bit surprised that Peter O'Toole didn't win simply because he (probably) won't have another chance to be nominated. And, it was nice to see Jerry Seinfeld again (been a while). Dirty Sanchez
Martin Scorcese I'm very happy he finally won and that The Departed won best picture. The best movie by far last year IMO.

SayItAintSoJoe
For the most part I enjoyed the show last night except for all the political rhetoric. For a minute there I thought Gore was going to use the show to announce his candidacy for president. I’d hate to be a documentary film maker going up against Gore’s “An Inconvenient Truth”, or a songwriter whose song was going up against Melissa Etheridge’s “I Need to Wake Up”, from the same movie. I mean, was there any doubt that anything associated with this film would win?
cdrudge
Surprised Alan Arkin won, thought his performance was solid but not Oscar worthy.I watched Little Miss Sunshine the other day. After about 90% of the movie (prior to the talent portion of the beauty contest) I wondered how on earth it would be nominated for an Oscar. It was funny at spots, and a few spots had the "touching" moments that people love. I just didn't think the movie as a whole was an Oscar caliber performance. I also didn't think Arkin's performance was great enough to get an Oscar. That being said, I recommend LMS, if for nothing else, the talent portion of the contest. It made the 90 minutes prior to that worth it.
Perchoutofwater
Look at the films nominated for Best Documentary and tell me that Hollywood isn't far out there to the Left.
rocknrobn26
I found it funny that they said the "Academy Awards" is now 100% green (or some such). What were they using to power all those lights and AC, Wind power or Bio fuels?

DMD
I am sure they rode bicycles and brought a change of clothes. And I am sure that they all walked to LA instead of flying there in a 747 that was burning up 40,000 gallons of toxic jet fuel into the upper atmosphere where all that global warming problem starts...
