Dazzlemaster
I accepted the following trade in a head-to-head league. The scoring format and lineup is al follows: 10 teams 1 pt for 10 yrds rush/rec 1 pt for 25 yrds pass 6 pts TD starting lineup: 1QB, 2RB, 3WR, 1TE, 1K, 1 DEF 6 bench The trade was Mewelde Moore and Jason Witten in exchange for Antonio Gates and Antowain Smith. The trade was vetoed and I am very unhappy. What are your thoughts? Thanks in advance.

Whiskey Pimp
Very reasonable trade. One upgrades TE and loses a bit at RB and vice versa. That may be one of the most fair trades I've seen in a long time.

Lesson = don't waste your time in free leagues. P.S. If this is not a free league I would quit after the season is over. quiveringnorm
fair trade. Unless collusion suspected no need to ever veto. Owners who vote no for sake of voting no need to grow a pair.

colickyboy
here's some missing info on that trade: dazzlemaster's roster (second place, 5-2 record): - carson palmer, qb - marc bulger, qb - santana moss, wr - terrell owens, wr - randy moss, wr - donte stallworth, wr - jerry porter, wr - steven jackson, rb - julius jones, rb - mewelde moore, rb - ricky williams, rb - jason witten, te the other team's roster (ninth place, 1-6 record): - steve mcnair, qb - michael vick, qb - laveranues coles, wr - robert ferguson, wr - plaxico burress, wr - michael clayton, wr - roy williams, wr - kevin jones, rb - thomas jones, rb - antowain smith, rb - cedric benson, rb - antonio gates, te - alge crumpler, te still think it's a fair trade for dazzlemaster to add antonio gates to his already-stacked team while the other team gets a rb who would probably sit on his bench while also downgrading his TE? Big Country
I think we found the commissioner with sour grapes. The trade is very fair, especially if "the other team" has concerns about Benson cutting into Jones time or feels that Moore has better matchups, etc., he may see it as an upgrade at his #2 RB... that part is all subjective. And Witten is still a very strong TE to fill in for Gates. It is blatant there is not collusion here, so there is no reason to overturn the trade. I would not play in this league next year if a trade like this gets vetoed. what you need to do is move up the trade deadline if a even trade like this affects the league so. Nabb
looks like a completely fair trade to me. unless there is a "side-deal" which the league does not know about, I don't see any reason to veto this trade. one team is downgrading at RB to get the best TE in the league. one team is downgrading at TE to get a better RB. good trade for both teams. That's a very fair trade. There should be a coup to replace the commish. He's obviously amateur and has some vested interest in negating the trade, whether it's for personal reasons or fantasy reasons. Get out of that league. You think it's ok to veto a trade because it makes a good team even better? I mean, by that logic, dazzlemaster can make no trades this year unless it is a downgrade for his team? As far as the "fairness" of the trade, who gives a ratsass. Who are you to run their teams for them? Next you'll be telling them who they have to start. No collusion=no veto. Period. As for the trade itself, and whether it's even or a good trade, I think both teams do well here. In fact, the team that gets Moore may start him over Jones for most of the rest of the year. Whiskey Pimp
Here's another point to make. I'm assuming you start 2 RB's. Dazzle now has to start A.Smith instead of Moore while JJ is out so he is actually downgrading his starting RB to upgrade his TE.

colickyboy
one team is downgrading at RB to get the best TE in the league. uh...which part of julius jones and steven jackson is the downgrade at RB? he has since picked up marion barber and tony fisher until jones returns from injury. I think we found the commissioner with sour grapes yep, that'd be me. for the record, if i really had sour grapes, i'd use my commish powers to unilaterally squelch this deal, which i didn't. i don't think it's fair for someone to keep the core of his stacked team while adding the best fantasy TE. Based on 2005 stats Moore would become the other team's #2 back It's not a clear upgrade as the #2 back for the other team. Moore is averaging 7.8 fantasy pts per game; K.Jones 7.7.
