Sgt. Ryan
Is the KC Oline coming with him. If not, I woudnt touch CP until early in the 2nd round.
giantsfan
SA, LJ, LT, Edge, Tiki are the first 5 Portis, Jordan, Rudi, and Jackson are 6-9 IMO Point is I can't see putting Portis higher than 6 no matter what. I think it's a toss up between him and Jordan for 6 and 7 IMO.
skylive5
Don't think he was putting him in the top 5 or whatever.... just saying move Portis up your rankings. I probably will..... had him a bit low anyway.

To me Portis should be moved up in the 6 or 7 range anyway. He REALLY seems to be getting comfortable with Gibbs. I think he could have a big year next year regardless. My only fear is his short yardage ability and Gibbs' desire to pass down there, and the love Gibbs seems to have for Betts. Caveman_Nick
Ranking RBs is going to be a nightmare nexst year. 1) Will SA have a second historic season in a row? History says no. 2) Will LT come back from his late season woes? 3) How will LJ perform with a new HC and OC 4) What will the situation be like in Indy for Edge? Or elsewhere? 5) Will Rudi be splitting time with Perry? Will Palmer of Kitna be the QB? 6) Which Caddy is the real Caddy? 7) What will happen in Buffalo with the coaching and scheme? 8) Will Don Davis be looking over his shoulder at Reggie? 9) Will Age finally catch up with Tiki? 10) Will Dillon return for injury, or is it fork time? 11) Where does Jamal Lewis play, and is his ankle healed? 12) Will Saunders end up in Wash? 13) Who will start in Denver? 14) Will Ricky Williams get traded? 15) Cedric Benson, T Jones, or RBBC? 16) Is Onterrio Smith done Wizzinating? 17) Is Willie Parker the real deal? 18) How is Stl's offense with a new coach, and will it feature the running of SJax? 19) Will the Lions new coach have a real offensive gameplan? 20) Marion Barber, Julius Jones, or both? 21) Will Christy Brown ever grow a pair? 22) Is F Taylor still with Jax 23) Does Philly add a real RB for Westbrook to compliment? 24) Gado, Green, Davenport, Lendale White? 25) Will D Foster ever be healthy? 26) Does Deuce produce recovering from an ACL? 27) Gore, Barlow, or someone else? 28) Arrington, Shipp, or someone else? There's a whole lot of shaking going on... 1275761 That was just the list of questions I trumped up off the top of my head in a few minutes. I didn;t even consider all of the OC changes...or the line changes...or fullback changes...or any of that other stuff. I don't envy the player ranking job. I'll do my own for my own sake, but I wouldn't want to have to put it out for consumption, and therefore "gimmie my money back" kind of scrutiny. DKF
How was his 2004 season 'historic'? 1276191 One yards short of the rushing title is close enough.
Caveman_Nick
One yards short of the rushing title is close enough. 1276260 I guess that's a different definition of historic. I don't consider the rushing title in and of itself to be so. Noteworthy is more like it.
Easy n Dirty
I guess that's a different definition of historic. I don't consider the rushing title in and of itself to be so. Noteworthy is more like it. 1276288 You can get caught up in the semantics of "historic" versus "noteworthy", I guess, but I think the point, which I agree with, is that he has had two elite seasons in a row (meaning seasons worthy of an RB drafted in the top 2 or 3), so as you rank your RBs for 2006, the question becomes does he have another one of those seasons in him? Assuming he returns to the Seahawks and nothing else of note changes, and given all the other RB questions that you listed so well, then SA is not that much of a question mark in my mind, he's a surefire #1 pick. Historic implies rewrote the rulebook. Missing leading the league in rushing by one yard is one thing, but it's not Historic. Leading the league in rushing and setting the all time TD record is historic. That suggestion is creating the semantic. I am not saying in the first place that SA isn't worthy of a high draft pick. I questioned if SA could repeat his historic season. 2004 was not anywhere close to 2005. He had 100 less yards and 8 fewer touchdowns. A great season, but not record setting. The point is that the top 3 RBs will be hotly debated. Will you pick LT, LJ, or SA? Each one has his questions. Alexander is 2ish years older than the other 2, but not old enough to have age questions. There's a lot that goes into it. You probably can't go wrong with any of the three, and picking 3rd will probably be the blessed position next year because of it. I have no problem with someone wanting to pick SA #1, but I don't think anyone can discount one of those three as a possibility for the top pick. Caveman_Nick
3a) Will Priest come back?3b) If so, how will that affect LJ? 1276471 Herm sez that LJ is the starter. Would Priest steal touches? Maybe, but probably not enough to deflate his value significantly. But, you have the gist of my list That is less of a question to me than how losing Vermiel and Saunders affects LJ.
Chief Dick
Edwards does not have the emotional loyalty that Vermeil felt towards Holmes. I see a big dose of Larry Johnson next year. He's top three easy, especially with Solari the OC now. The big question is how long LJ will hold out, because you know that's coming.
