Menudo
I've been watching this game here in the 2nd half, and the Jets have shown a ton of heart. Right now, they have 90 yards to go for the tie, but, even if they lose, I'd be pretty proud if I were a Jets fan. This team is better than people expected, and seem to be playing inspired football. Flip_Side
They're driving...How about that Coles TD reception though. He would not go down!

godtomsatan
The Bills have a road win in the division, so do the Pats....'phins 0-2. Perhaps an interesting race with all 4 teams after all.....
Rovers
It was pretty annoying reading about how so many people said the Jets would be the worst team in the NFL this year. There are a bunch of teams that are easilly much worse than the Jets. They are a 6 to 8 win team, and that's not bad for a rebuild. Mangini looks to have these guys ready to play.... and unlike the Herm Edwards teams of the past, they don't wilt in the 4th quarter. They still have gas in the tank. Still, Mangini made some bad calls.... going for it early in the third, on a 4th and one at their own 49 was a bad decision.... not running a QB sneak to get 4 inches made it a worse decision. He's a rookie coach... and will make this sort of rookie mistake. Still, the team played out the whole game. The run D is less than adequate. Kerry Rhodes is a freakin stud, and future pro bowler. The Jets still need a NT, and until they get one, the run D will be soft against good teams like the Pats. But, this team is headed in the right direction, for sure. The old Jets would have folded, crumbled and got blown out. Not this team, not with this QB (when healthy), not with this coach.

Chief Dick
At least you got rid of Herm. He is the biggest retarded idiot of them all, with all due respect to retards. Edited September 18, 2006 by Chief Dick

Ten days ago, there were serious questions about A) their QB, their RB, C) their WR corps, D) the entirity of their defense. Today, there's some serious surprise regarding their play, and some waiver wire scouring of a couple of their key elements. Kudos to getting them to beat the Titans on the road, and giving their primary rival a game at home. Definitely playing hard and Mangini looks like a guy who can motivate a team with a solid gameplan. They're still going to lose their next four. Football Fever
What are you talking about? If it weren't for some bad calls from the refs and two lucky plays, this game was a blowout. the Jets had no clue until the refs gave them a chance. They couldn't stop the Pats defensively and they could do anything against them offensively for 3 and 1/2 quarters.

Maybe to you and others, but there weren't serious questions in my mind. Care to bet that they don't lose the next 4? I'll do you one better.... I say they go 2-2 in the next 4 games. The old Jets would have folded, crumbled and got blown out. Not this team, not with this QB (when healthy), not with this coach. Very good post, too bad that Robertson is so damn mediocre (4th pick in the draft and they traded up to get him). Running game is just abysmal (one play Mangold opened up a nice hole but Blaylock only managed to get 4 yards -- LT would have broken off a huge run). But the passing game is good and the offensive line played great in the 2nd half. Pennington looks solid. I said before the season this is a 6-8 win team and if you look at the schedule, 8 wins is hardly a pipedream. Not a playoff team (yet) but well back on the way
Vet
Just got back from the game. The Jets showed some heart, but they are not a good football team. The Patriots owned the line of scrimmage on both sides of the ball. The Jets couldn't run the ball at all. Other than the sack by Rhodes, Brady could have had a cup of coffee and a sandwich in the pocket if he chose, there was absolutely no pass rush. Meanwhile, Pennington was being pressured on nearly every attempt. The two outstanding plays by the WRs made it interesting, but there was not a lot there. The nine yard punt just before the half provided the Pats with 7 points. This is one of those teams that will play hard and be competitive, but won't win many games. At the end of the year, you'll be saying "this is the best 4-12 team I've ever seen".

I say they win 7! This team will only improve as the season goes on. Anyways, hope it was fun!
